Principal's Message
Happy Sunday!
And Happy Mother's Day! Thanks to all the moms for all you do!!! I hope you had a great day with family and friends!
Graduation Items
You'll notice that we have a lot of new (and more specific) details about graduation in the section immediately below the "Principal's Message". Please check it out and let me know if you have any questions.
Two important items that are graduation requirements (and therefore something that all seniors must complete) are:
--20 hours of community service! Check out this link to the TVUSD Community Service Form. The form has an area to record service completed (on page 1) and ideas of where to serve (on page 2). Please, please, please encourage your students to complete the 20 hours before it's too late! It would be a real shame to NOT be able to graduate simply for not completing the community service requirement! Today is only May 12th...there is STILL LOTS of TIME TO COMPLETE THIS REQUIREMENT!
--Completion of the FAFSA or the FAFSA Opt-Out Form! Here's the link to the official website: FAFSA. If you prefer not to fill out the FAFSA there is an opt out form that can be filled out in only a few minutes. I have just sent that "opt out" form link to you via email. If you haven't received it, please let me know and I'll send you the link! I'm not including it in the newsletter as students also receive this newsletter and the form really needs to be completed by parents. (It is open to students who are 18! But we're starting with sending the link to all parents FIRST!) Need more help with the FAFSA "Opt Out"? Please contact our Counselor, Mr. Blanchfield, or our administrators, Mr. Schlottman (that's me!) or our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Webb.

CAL SOAP College Success Coach
Ruth is our California Student Opportunity and Access Program (CAL SOAP) College Success Coach and works with SHNS students once a week.
Ruth meets with our students in the library and talks with them about their post-secondary options--including attendance at community colleges and trade schools. If a student wants to meet with Ruth, she's in the library at lunch every Thursday!
Annual Family Updates
It is now time to complete your Annual Family Update in your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This update is REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS RETURNING TO TVUSD FOR THE 24/25 SCHOOL YEAR.
Any student who does not have a completed Annual Update:
may not be enrolled in a class for the 24/25 school year
may not receive a schedule
and may not be able to participate in school business days in August.
It is imperative that all families complete the Annual Family Update as soon as possible to prevent any delay in your child's enrollment for next school year.
Click the links below for RETURNING STUDENT ANNUAL UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:
Please note, this process is for RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY. If you have a child in your family who will be new to TVUSD for the 24/25 school year, you must complete the New Student Enrollment process. Click HERE for New Student Enrollment instructions.
