Hi! My name is Linnea Anderson and I just graduated from Ball State University. I couldn't be more excited to be a part of the Young community. I am looking forward to learning and growing with your students. Go dolphins!

Hello, my name is Kelly Baker. I have been a teacher in District 204 for 22 years. My first teaching assignment in the district was at none other than Nancy Young Elementary and I am super excited to be back. I have also taught at Gombert Elementary, Longwood Elementary, and in Florida. While at Longwood, I had the pleasure of teaching with one of my former NYE students. What a wonderful and exciting opportunity it was watching one of my students impacting a new generation of children. My husband and I both graduated from the University of Iowa and are huge Hawkeye fans. We have two sons, Jonathan and Ryan. Our favorite pastimes are visiting our children in Seattle and LA and attending Iowa football games.

Hi my name is Kaylyn Davis!

I've been a school social worker in District 204 for the past 3 years, which has given me the opportunity to work with many students, families, and communities within our district. I grew up in Naperville and attended District 204 schools from elementary through high school. I am a proud 204 graduate who's excited to work as a social worker for my home district! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and closest friends. I'm so excited to be joining Young Elementary this upcoming school year !

Hello, my name is Justin DeCanio. I am an artist and an art teacher. I have done a lot of cool things on my art side, like talking at the Art Institute and having a solo art show! I love drawing, playing video games, and exploring nature in my free time. I am looking forward to creating many amazing things with the students this coming year.

I graduated from North Central College in the spring with a bachelor's degree in choral music education. I loved singing in the choirs there. I also work for Road Show Inc., a non-profit organization that does show choirs, summer camps, and musicals for kids of all ages. I love to play piano, golf, go to baseball games, and spend time with my cat and dogs!

Hi everyone! My name is Emily Heggeland. I recently graduated from Valparaiso University, and I am thrilled to start my first year of teaching at NYE. I grew up in Naperville and attended school in D204, so it's a privilege to be back. Go Dolphins!

Hello, everyone! My name is Makayla Huff, and I'm excited to be joining NYE as a first-grade teacher. I recently graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Elementary Education and have just moved to the area. Working with kids has always been my passion, and I'm thrilled to be part of this school community. Looking forward to an amazing school year... Go Dolphins!

I’ve been a speech pathologist for 17 years in the elementary schools. I graduated from Illinois State with my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. My husband and I live in Yorkville with my son, daughter, two step-sons, a dog, and two cats. I’m a cubs fan who enjoys swimming, reading, boating, and watching my kids play sports. I am so excited to start my new journey with district 204!

Hello all, my name is Kaitlin Salviola, and I am so excited to become a part of the Nancy Young family. I am going into my third year of teaching and have loved every minute of influencing and growing with my students. I have 3 sisters who fill my life with lots of joy. A fun fact about me is that I love Disney and try to visit as much as I can. I’m eager to meet everyone and look forward to much collaboration.

Hi everyone, my name is Piper Senft and I'm so excited to be teaching 3rd grade at NYE this year! I graduated from Illinois State University this spring and have spent my summer so far visiting Disney World with my family and relaxing :) In my free time I love to read, spend time outside, and hang out with my family. I greatly look forward to this school year and getting to know the community!

3. When will teacher assignments be available? August 12th

During this time families who are new to Nancy Young are welcome to come into the building. This event is not intended for kindergarten families, however, if your child is apprehensive about the upcoming transition, you are welcome to bring them. Please know teachers will not be available to meet during this time, but members from the office staff will be present and ready to greet you with a smile.

At 2:30PM on Monday, August 19th all students and loved ones will be welcomed into the school to see the positive changes throughout Nancy Young as well as drop off their school supplies. Please plan to enter the school in the front of the building by the main exit and leave through the recess doors as indicated on the map. Do not worry about navigating the building, we will have staff on hand to direct you and your child (ren) to their respective classrooms.

At 2:55PM we will ask everyone to exit the building. At that time, you will be invited to mingle with fellow community members and have a sweet treat provided by our amazing PTA on the blacktop.

At NYE we embrace the future, but we continue to honor the past. Since I have been named principal, we have hosted a FIRST and LAST recess. What is this!?! All incoming kindergartens are welcome to join us on the playground starting at 5:00PM on Tuesday, August 20th. During this time, I will be present, and we will officially "sign" each child up to join our family. Be sure to bring your camera, because this is a photo opt you will NOT want to miss. After the photo opt all children will enjoy the playground equipment as the adventure begins!

A short 13 years later NYE graduates will be welcomed back for our LAST recess. Bring the Kleenex to both events. :-)

Our PTA has worked hard this summer to prepare spirit wear! Please bring cash or check if you want to purchase spirit wear at any of our upcoming events. We are trying to have samples available for you to see the merchandise. Spirit wear will also be available online! More information to come.

The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation and Wells Fargo Advisors are partnering for the eighth year to recognize our outstanding staff members who go above and beyond. To nominate someone who is making a difference, visit A+ Award.

Lost and found items will be gathered and kept on a table in the lunchroom. If your child misplaces something please encourgae them to look on the table. Prior to donatating items to a local charity, I will advise the community.

Due to both safety and staffing challenges no forgotten items will be accepted throughout the school day. Only items that are required per a child's IEP/504 or health plan will be accepted.
