A New Face
I love to spend my free time reading. I enjoy fiction books that make my mind work and leave me on the edge of my seat but I also enjoy light-hearted reads. I also love children's books. A couple of my favorites include The Boxcar Children, Wonder, and Where the Wild Things Are. My other hobbies include hiking, kayaking, cycling, practicing yoga, and travelling. I especially love to engage in these hobbies with my husband and our two daughters who are 9 and 14 and our oversized golden-doodle!
I look forward to meeting you all! Stop by and introduce yourself.
May your holidays be filled with happiness.
Sincerely,
Crystal

Gift Ideas for your Teen Reader
When planning to shop for the holidays, we've all heard the saying:
Something you want
Something you need
Something to do
Something to read
Well, Goodreads has you covered if you're stumped on what book to buy your teen with a winner in the categories of Young Adult Fiction and Young Adult Fantasy and Science Fiction.
And the winners are...
Best Young Adult Fiction
Author Ali Hazelwood made her name in the book business by writing smart love stories for discerning adult readers. So, it’s an encouraging development that her first venture into the young adult aisles is proving equally popular. Check & Mate follows reluctant chess genius Mallory Greenleaf as she deploys gambits and strategies in the game of life. Smart kids need love too, you know.
Best Young Adult Fantasy and Science Fiction
Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross
A massive BookTok sensation, Rebecca Ross’ Divine Rivals introduces a genuinely fresh new fantasy world featuring vengeful gods, the horrors of war, and the power of love—all kinds of love. The book also extols the virtues of old-world correspondence (writing letters!). Good news for impatient readers: Book two of the series hits U.S. shelves on December 26.
Friends of the Library
All of our events are made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Library. The Friends of the Library was founded to support the Danville Public Library in various ways. They sponsor all library programs as well as help buy the supplies/equipment needed for programs through membership dues and fundraising activities. We are always looking for more members!
