Good morning, TLC families. This will be the last Family Update of the 24-25 school year.


Believe it or not, we have a little more than three school weeks left in the semester. Remember, our schoolwide goal is for every one of our students to pass ALL of their classes. We want everyone to be on track to graduate, on time. We will have academic support after school (ESS) every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:15-5:15. Please email Ms. Smith at jamill.smith@fayette.kyschools.us for more information. We will not have an in person Summer School, but students will be able to work virtually on credit recovery. Ms. Smith will be sending out more details regarding this credit recovery in the next few weeks.


Please make sure you have access to Canvas, EOS, and Infinite Campus, so you can support your student behaviorally and academically.



Please review the important dates below:

  • Working Wednesdays on May 7th, and May 21st, and May 28th (Last Day!)
  • KSA Testing from May 8th-May 29th
  • TLC Community Showcase on May 16th from 12:30-3:30
  • TLC Graduation on May 22nd from 6:00-8:00 at Southland Christian Church on Richmond Road
  • Spring Final Portfolio Presentations on May 19th, 22nd, and 23rd.
  • Undergraduate Rewards and Field Day on May 28th (Early Release Wednesday)


We are excited to announce our 3rd annual TLC Community Showcase on May 16th from 12:30-3:30. Last year, this event was an unbelievable success. We had over 100 community partners visit and interact with our students, as well as offering invaluable feedback on their work.


This year, we want this event to be even more impactful. If you attended last year, the setup will be similar. We will have our students present their portfolios. In addition, we will have teachers and students displaying, presenting, and even selling their work throughout the building. Also, we will have food and beverage trucks and door prizes.


Please help make the 3rd Annual TLC Community Showcase an even bigger success than last year. Please complete this short Google Form if you can join us for any amount of time on May 16th from 12:30-3:30:

Charla Shelley

March Student of the Month


Charla is a TLC Senior who will be graduating on May 22nd. This is her second year at TLC. In the short time Charla has been at TLC she has been a leader with regards to attendance, behavior and academics. Charla has a 3.9 GPA and is currently ranked # 1 in her Senior class. Charla plans on pursuing a career in Cosmetology or as an EMT. We are excited for her future successes, but we will definitely miss her at TLC.

Ms. Eakins

March Staff Member of the Month


This is Ms. Eakins third year as a Special Education Teacher at TLC. Ms. Eakins is a phenomenal classroom instructor that goes beyond for all of the students that she serves. Her career has been focused on the inclusion of students with disabilities in all facets of life. Ms. Eakins excels in creating partnerships with community members and ensuring that her students are life ready. She recently a Grassroots Grant and she will be opening TLC's first White Tiger Cafe. More details to come!

TLC School Improvement Update

Here are our goals for the 24-25 school year:


1. ATTENDANCE--We want every student to have a minimum of 85% attendance for the entire school year.



  • CURRENT STATUS--Our school wide average daily attendance for the Fall Semester is 81.2%.



2. ACADEMIC GROWTH--We want every student to pass all of their classes.



  • CURRENT STATUS--52% of TLC students passed all their classes. Overall, the passage rate for all classes at TLC is 79%



3. LIFE READINESS--We want every student to meet the requirement for post secondary readiness according to the Kentucky Department of Education.



  • CURRENT STATUS--44% of our Seniors have demonstrated post secondary readiness according to KDE.
