We have had a very active October! Staff and students continue to learn, as we’re very focussed on curriculum. Please be reminded that regular, punctual attendance is key to effective teaching and learning. Parent Teacher Interviews went very well and we appreciate parents taking such an active role in their children’s learning! Earlier interviews provide many advantages: we can discuss your child as an active learner instead of focusing on the Interim Progress Report as a document, AND there is time for students to improve their habits between the interview and the Interim Progress Report being generated.
We wish to express HUGE THANKS to all students, parents, and staff for the overwhelming donations for Halloween Dance Auction. Gish Parents’ Association has been VERY busy with the Halloween Dance and hot dog sales. The Dance was a huge success. Special thanks to all the hardworking moms and dads who helped to host such an excellent evening. Please consider helping out; even an hour or two goes a long way in helping spread the workload!

We are very proud to report our success with Grade 6 and 9 provincial achievement tests (PATs). Please see the chart within this newsletter. Stakeholder surveys from students, staff, and parents are equally outstanding. Gish School’s admin team appreciates the privilege of working with such excellent staff members, students, and parents.
Interim Progress Reports go home on Friday, November 15. We anticipate excellent teaching and learning up to the Christmas break. Please remember that December 20th is a half-day of instruction for Grades 1-6 (no Kindergarten).
