Thank you for a lovely school year!
Thank you for a supportive school year, we look forward to seeing you again in the fall! I hope your family enjoys a lovely laughter filled summer. Below are a variety of happenings throughout Hillsboro so you can stay connected. Our Tamarack Community Group will also be at the local Farmers Market with summer reading & writing ideas! We will also be hosting OMSI Camps and WizKidz here at Tamarack. Links to register:
OMSI: https://secure.omsi.edu/camps-and-classes#sites=TamarackElementarySchool
Wiz Kidz: https://forms.gle/1XkECAdX5z67Kgxo7
As mentioned previously:
If you are a sixth grade family, we invite you to celebrate your child’s promotion to middle school on the last day of school. Please come straight to the gym @ 8:05 am, for the ceremony as they shift from elementary students to 7th grade!
Dismissal on the last day (Thursday 6/12) is 11:20, lunch will still be served and buses still run!
Over the summer you will receive a postcard form the school district in the mail (rather than a full packet), that will have a QR code with all the back to school information the district website also houses all of the Back to School Packets. https://www.hsd.k12.or.us/for-families/back-to-school this will be updated later in the summer. Also, you can look up your child’s bus information at: https://www.hsd.k12.or.us/departments/transportation/mybus-student-route-lookup The QR code will also lead you to information regarding our new communication platform, parent square (no longer remind for the coming year).
You will receive a call from your 25-26 school year homeroom teacher(s) on August 27th, inviting you to the Meet the Teacher Social on August 28th @ 4:30-6:30pm
Regarding school supplies for the coming school year: If you simply get your child a backpack and water bottle (Please label them) that’s enough :) If you have any hardships over purchasing these items-no worries, we can supply! If you do wish and can contribute to our school supplies, items we as a school truly need are, (thank you!) school supplies are pooled for schoolwide use:
Ticonderoga #2 pencils
Copy Paper
crayons/markers/colored pencils
hand sanitizer
highlighters
Hillsboro District School Calendar (links to the new calendar)
I think that’s it! I hope you have an amazing summer. Thank you for trusting us with your amazing humans, we truly appreciate you and opportunity to serve your family, Mrs. Walters

Children must be present to receive the lunch and all lunches must be eaten on site. Click here for locations and times. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
A message from the district nursing team
It is important that school staff have the most up to date information to ensure your child’s health and safety at school. Contact your District Nurse throughout the school year with any changes in your child’s condition.
If your child has a Health Management Plan (HMP), it is uploaded into their document section in Synergy to give teachers important health information access. Please review your child’s HMP on ParentVUE in the document section. Also, check that the information listed in the health portion of ParentVUE is still accurate. (Contact your child’s school if you need an activation key or a printed copy.)
If there is a change on the HMP or updates in the ParentVUE health section needed, please contact your child’s school by August 18th.
If nursing is not notified of any changes, the uploaded HMP will be implemented as is.
Sincerely,
Hillsboro School District Nurse Team
