Cypress Cubs News 🐾🐾
Dear Cypress Explorers,
The adventure at Cypress is in full swing, and we’re thrilled to see our explorers diving headfirst into the excitement! Our annual FOAM Run has officially launched and is coming up on Friday, September 27th. This event is a highlight of the year, and we invite all families to join in the festivities and fun! Expect foamy trails, laughter, and an unforgettable journey as we come together to support our school. Whether you’re running, cheering, or enjoying the community spirit, there’s a role for every adventurer so make sure to bring your fun-filled self to the adventure!
Mark Your Maps: The Annual FOAM Run is Coming!
This event is more than just a fun-filled day – it’s an important part of our mission at Cypress! Remember, get out there and visit friends and family to help our school make the FOAM Run successful!
This fundraiser directly impacts your student in two big ways:
1. Classroom Grants – Every explorer needs the right tools for their journey! These funds help our Camp Leaders get what they need to enrich our explorers' learning journey!
2. Field Trips – Every adventurer loves a good expedition! We believe in getting our students off campus to explore new worlds through field trips, but buses and transportation are EXPENSIVE. The funds from the FOAM Run cover a bulk of these costs, ensuring our students can embark on enriching learning adventures outside the classroom.
More $$$ for Cypress
We need your help! If you haven't done so, complete the Education Benefits Form. Completing this form is crucial as it helps secure the funding needed to support all students with essential resources. Programs, such as Elevo, our after school daycare, uses information from this form to determine who qualifies to participate. In the coming weeks, Cypress staff will be reaching out to you via ParentSquare and phone calls to ensure this forms gets completed by each family!
Attendance: A Key to Every Adventure
Every great adventure requires consistent effort, and at Cypress, attendance is key to ensuring your child doesn’t miss out on their learning journey. While we all understand how challenging it can be to juggle appointments and life’s surprises, we encourage you to schedule appointments during breaks whenever possible. Also, do NOT check out your student early from school! Each day in class is an opportunity for exploration, growth, and discovery – and when you miss school, you miss out on these valuable experiences!
Join the Cypress Expedition Crew: Support the PTA!
Congratulations to Mrs. Bain for 100% membership! Way to go!
Behind every explorer is a strong crew, and we need YOU! By joining the PTA, you become a vital part of our mission to support classroom grants, field trips, and other enriching experiences for our students. Let’s band together and continue guiding our explorers toward a bright future!
Stay Involved and Informed
Becoming part of your child’s educational journey doesn’t stop with the classroom. We encourage all families to get involved by attending our Title I, School Site Council, and Parenting Education classes or becoming more involved by being a representative to stay in the know at the district level and what impacts those decisions and conversations have at Cypress! These meetings provide valuable insights into our school community and offer opportunities to collaborate and support our explorers in new ways.
Cypress Spirit Family Nights: Let's Explore Together!
Looking for more ways to connect? Join us at our monthly Family Spirit Nights where you can meet up with other families, support Cypress, and enjoy time together. These events are a fantastic way to bond with fellow Cub Explorers and enjoy a meal for a great cause!
The adventure at Cypress never stops, and we’re so excited to continue this journey with you. Grab your explorer's hat, rally your team, and let's make this year unforgettable!

Tiny Tuesday ⏰
Please mark your calendar to remember that all Tuesdays are early dismissals at 12:10 p.m.
School Uniform 👕🩳
District K-5 schools have a mandatory uniform/standardized dress policy adopted by the Board of Education. This policy provides an opportunity for students to dress neatly for school, and it helps students to look at others’ character instead of their attire.
No Crocs or Sandals. 🩴
Due to slipping and tripping issues, crocs and sandals are NOT ALLOWED as they are a safety hazard.
Safety is our #1 Priority 🚸
Please prioritize the safety of our school community by strictly adhering to the parking lot rules. Following traffic guidelines and reducing your speed is crucial for a secure and efficient drop-off and pick-up process. Your commitment to these rules ensures a safe environment for our students and their families and contributes to the overall well-being of our school community. Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a secure and orderly school environment.
At this time, the middle lane will remain closed, beginning at 8:00 AM. Please plan accordingly. Breakfast begins at 7:40 AM so you are more than welcomed to drop off earlier to beat the traffic. If you are parking, please be mindful when backing up and exiting the parking lot, in a safe manner.
Please follow traffic and parking laws and courteous practices for the safety of our students and for our neighbors.
