Need to know this week...
We will be watching the HBHS Homecoming Parade outside this week on Thursday. We will adjust our schedule. Please avoid check-outs during the time when we are scheduled to be out of the building.
ALSO - there is no school on October 18th - this is a teacher work day.

Do you ever ask your child about his/her day and you get a one word answer? or a shrug? Use these questions to find out more about your child's day!

Staff of the Month - Mrs. Alisha Carson
Guest Speaker in Careers -6th grade
20-year-old University of Arkansas Agricultural Business major Braden Harrod visited our 6th Grade Career Awareness classes this week. Harrod is the owner of Harrod's Homegrown Produce at 102 Cynthia Avenue in Farmington. He told students about the importance of having basic life and soft skills, working hard, having fun and the knowledge needed to be successful in a career. The entrepreneur shared his personal story from working on his family produce farm to how he has learned to manage his time, as well as costs and needs for his own business.
"Finding Nemo Jr." Audition
If your student is interested in auditioning for Finding Nemo Jr, please fill out this form. This play is extra-curricular and is open to all Hellstern students. There is a significant time committment as the play gets closer to the performance.

If you want to pay cash for a ticket student will need this signed permission slip and $9.

Flu Clinic
Flu Clinic forms are going home on Monday, September 23rd. Students will get them during their advisory time. Our flu clinic for students is October 22nd. Forms should come back to the office and we will give them directly to Nurse Laura. Please remember to sign the flu form. Any questions - email lboseman@sdale.org.

September is PTO Sponsorship Drive! This is PTO’s ONLY fundraiser of the year. We need to raise $15,000 to fund all projects for the year, including replacing three basketball goals. Sponsorships are available at $10, $25, $50, and $100. There are incentives for participation!
- Each child who participates will receive a free treat at our first Hero Hangout.
- Each advisory class that raises $250 will get early access to the Hero Hangout.
- The team in each grade that raises the most money will get an extra social time!
