Open Enrollment
Open enrollment is currently open for next year.
Open Enrollment:
In the Kuna School District, every school offers an excellent education for students. The district is committed to sustaining outstanding schools and fostering strong relationships between parents and teachers.
We recognize that some assigned school attendance areas may not meet the needs of families in our district, and there are families who live outside of our district boundaries and want to choose our schools for their children. Idaho law (33-1402) allows us to offer an opportunity to apply for a change of school through open enrollment.
Click here for more information about Open Enrollment.
8th Grade Career ExplorationTours
We wrapped up our final tour of Kuna High School and Swan Falls High School with our last group of 8th graders. The students had a chance to tour the different pathways that each school offers before starting registration later this week.
Checking Out To Go Home
Reminder that if a student needs to call a parent because they are sick or need to go home, they must come to the office and use the phone from there. Using their cell phone to make these calls is not allowed and violates our cell phone policy.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held March 14th from 4-7 pm. Historically these conferences teachers have reached out and asked families to attend. If you would like to attend please reach out to your students' teachers.
Dangers of Vaping
This school year, youth vaping is as big an issue as ever, especially given growing mental health challenges among youth. Behind the bright colors and sweet flavors of e-cigarettes are harmful chemicals and nicotine addiction. Learn the essentials for helping kids avoid or quit vaping. The virtual presentation Dangers of Vaping: What Parents Need to Know in 2024 will be held on Tuesday, March 12 at 6:00pm Eastern Time. At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Understand and recognize tobacco industry tactics targeting youth
- Explain the dangers of nicotine e-cigarettes/vapes, non-nicotine vapes, and other new tobacco products
- Know the steps to protect youth and how to advise others to get involved
- Take action in their own communities
If you can't make it, don't worry! They will be offering this presentation throughout the rest of the year on May 12, September 10, and November 19.

Chromebooks
Please remind your students to charge their Chromebooks at night. We don't have many extra Chromebooks for students to use during the day.
Student Behaviors
We're seeing an increase in student discipline referrals to the office lately. This includes rough-housing, cell phone usage, disrespect toward students and staff members, tardies, and off task behaviors in class. Please remind your student of their academic and social responsibilities in school.

The purpose of the Kaveman Youth Strength Camp is to expose upcoming students and athletes to the Gold Standard way of training at Kuna High School. All participants will be taken through an age appropriate training based on the Long Term Athletic Development Model. They will go through the FUNdamentals of training and Leadership Skill Building exercises that will closely follow the structure of Kuna High Strength & Conditioning.
FUNdamentals of Training:
In this 4 week camp we will go through Stage Two and Stage Three of the Long Term Athletic Development Model. During Stage Two (FUNdamentals One) we will begin teaching agility, balance, coordination and speed (ABCs) while instilling the importance of daily play and physical activity. In Stage Three (FUNdamentals Two) we will continue to develop the ABCs and sports skills while integrating physical, mental and cognitive components within a well structured program that develops physical literacy. During both stages, the weight room portion will introduce the participants to age appropriate training that emphasizes safety procedures, proper exercise techniques and exposure to the Gold Standard culture.
Leadership Skill Building:
Throughout the 4 week camp, Leadership Skill Building will be integrated in all portions of our training. The components that participants will be exposed to are; Teamwork, Communication, Self Disciple, Strategic Development and Organizational Skills. These essential components of Leadership will be developed through game-like situations, collaborative training sessions, conversations and how we conduct ourselves in the weight room.
If you have any questions or comments about the Kaveman Youth Strength Camp, feel free to reach out!

Doodle for Google
Doodle for Google is returning for its 16th year! Doodle for Google is an annual contest where students in grades K-12 are invited to express their creativity by creating their very own Google Doodle in response to a prompt.
The winning Doodle will be displayed on the Google homepage for 24 and be awarded a college scholarship.
This year's prompt: My Wish for the next 25 years.
This year's contest was inspired by Google's Google's recent 25th birthday, and to celebrate we are asking students to think like it's a giant blank playground, waiting for their awesome ideas to bring it to life. What cool things could happen--in their neighborhoods, their schools, their whole world? We're excited to see students' ideas of the future, where no dream is too big or too small!
DEADLINE: March 14, 2024. 55 students will be named winners from their state. Four finalist will win a $5,000 scholarship and one winning student will receive:
- A $30,000 college scholarship
- A $50,000 Google for Education technology package for their school
- Their artwork will be place on the Google homepage for a day
- And more!
See the Doodle for Google Website for more information, accepted art mediums, and submission information!
