October 28th HALLOWEEN COSTUME EXPECTATIONS
Costumes are able to be worn for the day. All preparations for the costume must be completed prior to coming to school.
Please help us enjoy this day by following the guidelines for costumes:
- Must be able to easily move in the classroom, and student must be able to participate in activities/specials, and sit at desk.
- Use restroom without help getting costume on or off.
- No masks, face paint, or hair coloring (Thank you for helping us keep the walls and desks clean. Student will be asked to wash face if they come to school with face paint.)
- Costumes may NOT include props such as real, replica, or fake weapons of any kind.
- Costumes should not include anything gory, violent, disrespectful or inappropriate. Nor should a costume promote anything illegal.
- Please no inflatable costumes. These cause too much noise in the room.
- No costume may be worn that is unsafe or may create safety hazards.
(If there are questions about your child's costume, please contact your child's teacher or Principal Amy Senethavilay. *Students who do not follow the guideline will be asked to change or a parent will be called to bring appropriate items.)
FALL HARVEST PARTIES
The PVE Fall Harvest Celebrations will take place the last 30 minutes of the day on Friday, October 28, unless your child's grade level has specials during that time. Those teachers will share the timeframe in their grade level to teacher newsletter. Otherwise, please look for specific information to come from your child's teacher about ways you can help!
*If you do not celebrate Halloween or any holidays, please email Amy Senethavilay. We NEVER want our students to feel left out, so we have looked for ways to include our students with a separate event that is not holiday related. Our goal is that students will not need to leave school for this last 30 minutes. Again, please reach out to Principal Amy Senethavilay for details or to discuss options.

LOOKING TO VOLUNTEER?
Please click the SIGN UP link. This sign up list will take us through the end of October.
Being Good Neighbors
Pleasant View Families, I have taken a few calls from our neighbors regarding speeding, trash in yards, and people parking in the driveways of others. We also ask that you help us with being good neighbors. We know parents are dropping off and picking up in other areas of the neighborhood and that the pick-up line can back up and cause traffic to block neighbors.
PLEASE make sure you are leaving crosswalks open, not blocking drives or mailboxes, and that you are not waiting for long periods of time. Also, please remember that driveways are personal property, and you should not be parking and waiting for your child in someone's driveway. We also ask that you slow down while driving through the neighborhoods and be extra vigilant about students and bike. Although these are public streets, we would like to make sure PVE is in good standing with our surrounding neighbors.
Scoop Your Poop, Please!
*Please help pass this along to other neighbors in the area. We appreciate your support!
Picture Retakes
Absentee/Retake Picture Day is on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
If your child is new to PVE since our picture day, the front office will receive an access key code (Student Specific) on the 10th that will be send that home with your child.
If a student is getting retakes and has already ordered pictures, they do need to return the original package if they want them replaced with the new picture.
If they did not order pictures the first time and are getting a retake, they will use the same access key as they were given on the original picture day. Access keys will not change. If you do not have your access code (Student Specific), please contact the office for support. We have a list of those for all students.
Ordering is about a week after picture day, once Parker Portraits uploads pictures to their site for ordering. ALL ORDER WILL BE MADE ONLINE.
HAVE ONE OF THESE ITEMS LAYING AROUND TO DONATE?
If you have an old bat or golf club laying around that is no longer used and you are willing to part with it, please note that we are looking for a few donations. Please let Amy Senethavilay know if you are willing to donate and we can arrange pick up or drop off. Students who ride the bus cannot bring those items, but those walking or dropped off can deliver them straight to the office.
Veterans Day Project
We are once again going to build our Wall of Honor to help celebrate Veterans Day. We would like to honor those family members who have served or who are currently serving. Our staff and students enjoyed this project so much that we want to invite everyone to share their family members with us so that we may recognize and appreciate the service they have given or are currently giving.
Here is a link to the Honoring our Veterans document you may print at home or open. Students are welcome to draw pictures or insert a picture into the document. We are accepting these until November 10.
