Dear Parmenter Families,

As we wrap up Kindness Week and celebrate Valentine’s Day, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the warmth and generosity that make our school community so special. Your children have spent the week spreading kindness, and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts!

With February vacation just ahead, we hope everyone takes this time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family. The stretch between February and April vacations can feel long, but with renewed energy, we’ll tackle it together.

Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming AGAIN to Parmenter, March 10-17. This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair:

While you’re there, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds.

When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books

from the Fair.

The 5th Grade Celebration Committee has begun to plan an awesome celebration for our 5th grade class! SAVE THE DATE: Wednesday June 11th- 5th Grade Celebration! (rain date- June 10th)

If you are a 5th grade parent, please email Amy Papagno at papagnoa@gmail.com. We are putting together an email chain of 5th grade parents. This is where you will receive information about the event- lunch orders, sweatshirt orders, t-shirt orders, volunteering the day of the event... you do not want to miss this information! Please email Amy at your earliest convenience!

Our current 5th graders will be the last class to graduate from Parmenter! Let's make it the best celebration yet! The current estimated cost per student is approximately $150. Our first big fundraising initiative is direct donations from our 5th grade families. If you are able, please use the QR code below, or the flyer in your 5th grader's folder to make a donation. Donations are completely voluntary, but we appreciate the help to make this a great celebration for our 5th graders! THANK YOU!

Please read the above link with snow information. We have already struggled to show up with appropriate gear, ready for the elements. Please have a conversation with your student about throwing snow and recess expectations in the snow.

The Joint PCC has been working diligently to consolidate accounts, establish a board structure, and fundraise to set all schools up with a great start to the 2025-2026 school year.
