Spring Excel List of Youth Classes 2025
The North Andover High School Field Hockey Team will be hosting a “jumpstart to summer” clinic. High school players and coaches are eager to introduce the sport to any newcomers, as well as challenge those playing for years. Athletes should bring a stick (we have some to borrow) and water bottle, but also wear shin pads and a mouth guard. Goggles are optional!

Join this fun after school movement class and have some healthy fun dancing and doing some stretching in our favorite yoga poses. We will dance and laugh along with some of our favorite characters and the fun adventures with Cosmic Kids Yoga will entertain us as we stretch and strengthen our bodies. Equipment: bring a nut free snack, water bottle, a clean pair of socks and please wear stretch/sweat pants and sneakers.

We will do something different every week from spring gardening, spring cooking and spring crafts! One class we will be in the garden at the ABECC getting dirty cleaning up our garden and planting seeds which we will watch grow every week . Let's make some spring garden crafts painting flower pots , painting rocks and so much more. Let's not forget spring cooking let's make edible dirt cups , pasta salad, spring cupcakes and fruit pizza - just a few ideas!

Choose your own events! 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 1 mile, hurdles, long jump, high jump, discus, shot put, turbo javelin. Our program is designed to be flexible for children who are involved with other team sports but want to explore the possibilities of track and field. The foundation of the program is to put an emphasis on fun, learning and overall conditioning.

Do you love movies, TV shows, or YouTube videos? Ever wanted to make your own? NA CAM Youth Workshop is the place for you! Here you will get to create your own video projects! Bring us your stories and ideas and we will help you bring them to life at North Andover CAM’s studio. And we’ll have lots of fun along the way!

Come learn to draw - spring edition! We will draw people, animals, and other objects using a directed draw approach- I do, then you do! This approach teaches children to break down their drawings into small steps, using different lines and shapes. Our drawings will be based on stories, seasons, and holidays. Ample time will be provided at the end for coloring. Extra practice papers will be sent home to reinforce skills learned.

Our Minecraft Program is tailored to all skill levels, whether you’re just starting out your explorations or you already know you’re way around creepers. Typically, kids and teens play Minecraft at home with little to no direction or goals in mind. At Minecraft North Andover, students approach gameplay from a new angle, and are empowered to discover the underlying mechanics of the game in a collaborative environment. Beginner to advanced students in our Minecraft program learn how to think critically about their work with the infinite possibilities of the game. Students create themes, storylines, dialog between characters, objectives, goals, and more, while more experienced players delve deeper into game design & development, modding, and level design. Participants of nearly any skill level can have fun building and launching commands using simple and complex automation inside of Minecraft. As they master skills, we offer challenges that teach key concepts in programming, design, electrical engineering, and architecture, all while using teamwork and social skills. It’s the perfect blend of fun, learning, and creativity.

Shark Tales and Trails blends the excitement of running with the joy of reading! Designed especially for girls in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade, this club offers a unique way to stay active and dive into wonderful books. Join us for your first time as a sewer or as a returning student as we create and sew our own menagerie of mini felt animals! During these hands-on fun lessons you will learn how to trace patterns, cut, sew, stuff and add buttons and other various items to your collection of stuffed animals. Advanced Beginner! ONE DAY ONLY EVENT
This hands-on class will get into the basics of embroidery to add character and realistic attributes to your own hand made stuffed animal. While working on your creation, you will be introduced to some fun beginner embroidery stitches to add a fanciful smile, fluffy looking wings or other unique add-ons with thread and needle design!

On a mission to get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients! We present kids the opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, they’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until they’ve prepared the finished dish. Class closes with an opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned!

In this dynamic class your child will be learning karate, with elements of jiujitsu, taekwondo, self defense and ninjastics all while having fun. This will help your child to build confidence and teamwork. On their first day they will receive their first belt and a cool t-shirt, which they will wear to each class. At the end of the session there will be a mini graduation where students might earn their new belt with a board breaking. Sensei Greta Genovese is a third degree blackbelt and owner of Rising Storm Training Academy in Dracut. In addition to many championship titles, in 2023 she was inducted into the Action Martial Arts Hall of Honor with the “Outstanding Dedication in Martial Arts” award.

Moving up to middle school can cause a variety of BIG emotions! During this 4 week course, 5th grade participants will explore the changes and challenges associated with the transition from elementary to middle school. They will discuss ways to keep and make new friends, learn strategies to manage anxious thoughts and feelings, and learn some tips to stay organized. Participants will have a chance to ask questions to current middle school students, practice opening combination locks (locker practice!), and take a tour of the middle school!
