Autumn Term -12th December 2024
Message from the Head of School
Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you for all the positive feedback we received this week regarding the carol concert at St. Mary's church. The children were amazing and certainly got us all in the festive mood. As the concert was live streamed, we also had some lovely comments from relatives from across the globe who were not able to attend in person but still felt the 'glow' through their screens. Thank you so much to all the staff who worked so hard in putting this together. Please can I take this opportunity to remind you about completing our short staff appreciation efrom : https://forms.gle/TNf6a2DQd1wLiGHx6. I will be sending these comments to staff on Friday.
Tomorrow is Christmas jumper day! We would encourage all children to wear a festive jumper to school and in return ask that you donate some wrapping paper to the Cocoon charity (see more details below) and donate via the below button to Save the Children. Tomorrow will also be the year 6 Christmas market which is certainly a firm favourite with the children. The children in year 3, 4 and 5 will receive their tokens for the market in the morning.
Next week sees the Christmas lunch and Christmas parties for all children. The dates for these are as follows:
Tuesday 17th December - Year 3 and Year 4 Christmas dinner / Year 5 and Year 6 Christmas parties
Wednesday 18th December - Year 5 and Year 6 Christmas dinner / Year 3 and Year 4 Christmas parties
The children will need a packed lunch for their Christmas party days as there will be no hot food.
The ever popular Christmas card post box closes on Tuesday. This will be your last opportunity to deliver cards across the school using this service.
Finally, please find below the link to the calendar events for the Spring term.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Mr J James

MHST Coffee Morning: Managing Emotions
On Tuesday 14th January at 9am we will be holding a parent coffee morning in the Rose Hall at Hampton Junior School.
This coffee morning will be led by Jess Butler, the Child Wellbeing Practitioner allocated to our school from the Mental Health Support Team.
Jess will be doing a presentation around what emotional literacy is, as well as tips for promoting emotional literacy and effective emotion regulation at home. Following the presentation there will be the opportunity to ask questions and to share your tips and experiences with other parents and carers.
Parents from HISN and HJS are welcome to attend.
Christmas Paper Amnesty
HPP will be supporting Cocoon, a charity that hosts a Christmas DAY event for around 55 care leavers. Care leavers are young people who grew up within the care system within Richmond, Kingston and Hounslow. They are now adults who are aged 18-25 years and without this event they would sadly spend the day alone. This is their 8th year and HPPA have offered to help this year by collecting donations of wrapping paper as they will be wrapping for around 50 adults and 5 children. The charity are totally reliant on donations of EVERYTHING (from turkeys to crackers!) and your kind donations mean we don’t have to raise funds to buy wrapping paper. Please see their website for more information and a huge thank you from all at Cocoon for helping.
We will have a box available in the school office for all donatons of wrapping paper (be this full or half rolls of Christmas paper) the week commencing 9th December. Thank you for your support.
