Message from the Principal
Happy Thanksgiving!
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you. As the new principal of Stella May Swartz, I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a supportive and vibrant school community.
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the things we are thankful for, and this year, I am especially thankful for the warm welcome I have received from students, staff, and families alike. It has been a joy to get to know your children, see their enthusiasm for learning, and witness the dedication of our teachers and staff. Your support plays an essential role in creating an environment where students can thrive, and I am deeply appreciative of all that you do.
As we all take time to rest and enjoy the holiday, I hope you find moments of peace and joy with your loved ones. May your Thanksgiving be filled with warmth, gratitude, and happiness.
Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Karen Marino

Outdoor Recess
The cold weather has arrived. Please make sure that you are sending your children to school with the necessary winter apparel - coats, hats, gloves, etc. All students are responsible for making sure they are going outside with the winter clothes they were sent to school in.
If/when there is snow outside, only students with appropriate snow gear - coats, snow pants, and boots will be allowed to play in the snow.
If you need any help in gathering any of these winter items, please let us know.

Electronic Report Cards
We are excited to announce an important change in how we deliver report cards to our students. In our ongoing efforts to streamline communication and improve efficiency, we will be transitioning from paper report cards to electronic report cards for the 24-25 school year.
This shift to digital report cards brings several key benefits:
Immediate Access: Parents and guardians will be able to view report cards in Skyward as soon as they are published, allowing for quicker access to your child's academic progress. A PDF of directions on how to access your child's report card can be found here.
Environmentally Friendly: By moving to an electronic format, we are reducing paper waste and contributing to a more sustainable future.
Security and Accessibility: Electronic report cards will be securely stored, ensuring that sensitive information is protected. You will also be able to access historical records at any time.
What to Expect:
- Parents and guardians will receive another email from their building principal with instructions (hyperlinked above) on how to access the electronic report card from Skyward before the first report card is released.
- Skyward is user-friendly, and our staff will be available to assist you if you need help accessing the reports.
- Report cards will continue to include the same detailed information about your child’s academic progress, behavior, and attendance.
We believe this transition will enhance our ability to communicate more effectively with families and support student success. If you have any questions or concerns about the new process, please feel free to contact the school office, and we will be happy to assist you. If you would like to receive a paper copy of your child's report card, please contact your child's school office and we will be happy to print and send home a copy.
Thank you for your continued support as we work toward a more efficient way of engaging with our parent community.
