RVEF Fundraiser
The Rondout Valley Education Foundation (RVEF) was created nearly 20 years ago to support the ideas of teachers to enhance the learning for students, support field trips and manage club and project funds. Last year the Foundation saw its greatest demand and awarded a little more than $30,000 in grant money to benefit the students of Rondout Valley.
The RVEF has partnered with Leading Edge Fundraising to raise money for these grants opportunities. This past week details of the fundraiser were presented during a faculty meeting for both Intermediate and Junior High staff. Staff have had several days to implement the fundraiser and show students that successful participation is possible. Details of the fundraiser were shared with students during a town hall meeting last week. More information about the fundraiser is below.
The RVEF has approved the following awards for top fundraisers:
- The grade that raises the most will enjoy an extra recess with ice cream provided by the RVEF.
- The homeroom with the highest sales in each grade will receive a bagel party, sponsored by the RVEF.
“Empowering dreams and inspiring success, the Rondout Valley Education Foundation fuels a brighter future, one student at a time.”
~ Dr. Paul Spadaro
Rondout Valley Superintendent of Schools
“The RVEF has supported two of my literacy projects. They helped me to build up my classroom library and transform part of my classroom into a reading nook — a more welcoming and productive space for students to read and enjoy books. I know our district does not always have the funds for these types of projects, and I am grateful to the RVEF for supporting teachers to make helpful changes for their students.”
~ Andrew Ugolino
8th grade ELA teacher
Spirit Week!
Students and staff showed their spirit by wearing their favorite jersey on Monday, drinking their water out of "anything but a cup" on Tuesday, wearing blue and white on Wednesday, and reversing roles by students dressing like a staff member (or student for us staff!) on Thursday. Since there was a snow day on Friday, pajama day has been rescheduled for Monday.
