LABS LATELY FAMILY MESSAGE
September 22, 2024
π No School, October 3rd and October 14, 2024-Teacher Workdays
What's Happening This Week at the Ridge!
A special thank you to the parents who came and helped in the cafeteria on Friday, 9/13 for Instructional Assistant Appreciation. Please bring in band aids to help support Meg Smiles this week from 9/23/24-9/27/24. Students can wear yellow or gold this week to show their support of Childhood Cancer. On Friday, students are asked to wear college gear/dress like they want to be when they grow up!
Picture Day Reminder
Students will take their fall pictures on Thursday, September 26th. Students should have received their picture forms last week. If you did not receive a form, please reach out to your child's teacher. We will have a make-up day for pictures for any student that is absent.
Carpool Update
Parents, please make sure to have your children enter and exit the car on the driver's side in carpool. Also, please have students exit the car once you arrive at the cones instead of waiting to arrive at the sidewalk.
π Drive 2 Pie
We are throwing together a quick mini-drive to try to help out our local Food Cupboard (which is in DIRE need). Help us help our community while making it fun for our students! See the video below from our wonderful 5th grade teacher, Mr. Everett!
September-Attendance Awareness Month
September is Attendance Awareness Month. Regular daily attendance at school is crucial for every student's success. Being present each day allows students to engage fully in learning, build strong relationships with teachers and peers, and develop essential skills for academic achievement and personal growth. We know consistent attendance fosters a positive school culture and sets the foundation for lifelong habits. Good attendance will help your child soar academically in school, in college, and in their future career. School attendance not only enhances your child academically, but it also supports their social emotional growth. Missing 10% of school (about 18 days) can hinder academic success. Any time missed in the classroom (excused or unexcused) is a lost opportunity to learn.
To celebrate the importance of being here daily, we invite all students to join us for Attendance Spirit Days each remaining Friday in September! Let's come together to show our commitment to learning and have some fun while we do it!
COLLEGE GEAR DAY OR Dress Like You Want to Be When You Grow Up
Attending Today=Achieving Tomorrow-Wear College Gear or dress like what you want to be when you grow up on Friday, September 27, 2024.
Be Present at school daily!
