Teacher Appreciation Week
Thank you for loving on our staff this week! I always say that my staff is the best in the state and I appreciate our school family showing them love this week. The Burg really is a special place to work!
Blossomtime Tour
Our students had a special visit from Miss Blossomtime and her court, which included our very own Miss Edwardsburg, who is the 2nd Runner-up to Miss Blossomtime. They saw the other area community queens as they performed a dance and introduced themselves to the students. Our students were very excited to see so many real queens in one location!
Carline Dismissal
For the remainder of the school year, if the weather is nice, I will use the megaphone for dismissal. The students are much slower coming from the cafeteria at this point, and we can get them loaded into cars much quicker if they wait at the fence. I can match approximately 80% of the cars with the students, so please give me a little grace if I have to ask who you are picking up. Thank you for your patience this year with our line. We know it isn't ideal, but we have done our best with the space we have.
24 - 25 School Year Calendar
The 24 - 25 school year is right around the corner. This past week, the EPS Board of Education approved the calendar for the coming school year. I have attached a copy of it to this newsletter and it is also available on our district website.
One noticeable change is that our district will implement a monthly late start each month. This time is designed for professional development and collaboaration amongst our instructional staff. This protected time allows teachers and staff to stay updated on the latest educational practices, teaching techniques, and curriculum changes. By incorporating late starts, schools can provide dedicated time for professional development without disrupting the regular school day.
