April 19th, 2024
Important Upcoming Dates
April 24th - 3rd grade to LHS for Disney Concert
May 2nd - Middle School Orientation for 5th graders
May 3rd - Donuts with A Grown Up (Last names A-L)
May 6th - Donuts with A Grown Up (Last names M-Z)
Dear Spring Mills Families,
Congratulations to our fourth grade students and staff on their Wax Museum presentations! The students were fantastic, and we are super proud of their accomplishments. Thank you to all who attended this fun event to celebrate our fourth graders' hard work!
We have our final M-STEP tests this week. Here are the testing dates by grade and subject:
- Math Grades 3 and 4: April 23 and 24
- Science Grade 5: April 23
- Social Studies Grade 5: April 24
You can help support your child during this time by making sure they are present, rested, and bellies full. Please make sure that your child brings their wired headphones on those days, and also avoid any unnecessary absences if at all possible. We will not be having volunteers in the building during those times as there are strict rules for testing compliance. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Reminder that next week we celebrate Autism Acceptance by having a Spirit Week! Please see below for details.
We also look forward to welcoming our "grown-ups" on May 3rd and 6th at the PTA "Donuts with A Grown Up" event! Please see the PTA news for details about the event.
Finally - just a reminder about dismissal:
Families that have last names beginning with A-L:
Please do not tell your child to exit the cafeteria before their name is called. If you are in need of a green name tag to hold, please contact our office and we will make you another one. These procedures are in place for EVERYONE, and it is part of what keeps our students safe and dismissal moving along smoothly. Given our limited entrance and exit at Spring Mills, we do a pretty good job laying out the process. All we need our families to do is follow it, and it goes well.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!
Best wishes for a great weekend!

Have a terrific weekend and week!

School Folder Ad Sponsorship
National School Folders has been providing take home school folders for multiple years at zero cost to our school. Due to ever increasing printing and shipping costs, National School Folders is asking for help from the community in sponsoring ads for the 2024-2025 school year so that the folders will continue to be free.
There are two ways to help sponsor our School Folder:
*Business sponsorship: $350.00 (a discounted ad price) which includes a business ad on your school folder for the 24-25 school year.
*Personal sponsorship: $75.00 which includes your name on the back of the folder as a
sponsor.
For more information on how to sponsor an ad, please contact our National School Folders representative Bob Lundwall at:
586-405-1144

Circle Drive Reminders - Please share with other family members who may pick up your student.
Thank you to everyone following the guidelines making the circle drive a smoother experience for your community! Please see reminder below and share these rules with other family members who may pick up your student at times.
Arrival/Dismissal - updated information
- Our building doors open at 9:10 am. Please do not drop off early, as there isn't adult supervision outside of the building. You may only use the front loop for drop off
- Upper El Centrum doors close at 9:15am If your child arrives later than this, please use the front doors of the building.
- Safety first! Drivers will need to remain in their lane until all students have been unloaded; you are not allowed to pass other cars if your children unloaded first.
- Also for safety reasons, drivers and other adults must remain in the car during pick up and drop-off. If your child requires help getting in or out of their vehicle please park in the parking lot and walk to the doors to get your child/pick your child up.
- Always have your green name sign clipped to your passenger visor during afternoon pick up - this keeps things moving quickly for the entire Spring Mills community. Please let your child's teacher or the office know if you did not receive a sign and we will send them home with your child.
- When possible, please move your child's seat to the passenger side of the vehicle. Children should not be exiting out into traffic, but rather on the curb side.
- The school day ends at 4:08 pm. Please do not arrive before 4pm. DO NOT EXIT your vehicle from the circle to meet students.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!
