Dear Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers for the Class of 2026:
As we prepare to enter 2025, the Harriton counselors invite you to schedule a meeting with your student and us to discuss post-secondary plans. We recognize that many parents work during the day and want to provide ample time to schedule a meeting before the end of the school year. Please be aware that counselors will have limited availability from February 3 - March 1 due to Course Selection meetings and in May during AP exam testing, which runs from May 5 through May 23.
Please email Ms. Leslie Burke, our Counseling Office Secretary, at BurkeL@lmsd.org to request an appointment. Email is preferred but you may also call at 610-658-3961. Meetings will begin in January and should be made when both you and your student are ready to discuss post-secondary plans. Meetings should take place within the school day and during your student’s free set or study hall whenever possible. We ask that when you email Ms. Burke, include in the email your student’s free sets or study hall set and days. You may elect to include Dr. Bell, Harriton’s Career and College Access Counselor, either separately or with your student’s counselor. If, for any reason, you cannot attend a meeting during the school day, contact your student’s school counselor or Dr. Bell directly.
We look forward to helping your student make a smooth transition from high school to higher education, gap year, military, or the working world. After this initial family meeting, counselors will continue to help students navigate this process both individually and through our classroom and evening programs.

Attached below are the Parent Brag Sheet, Junior Questionnaire, and a Padlet containing important resources for the Class of 2026. Your thoughtful answers on the Parent Brag Sheet and your student’s answers on the Junior Questionnaire will greatly help your student’s school counselor write an effective letter of recommendation in preparation for college and other applications. These sheets should be typed and emailed to your student’s counselor before May 20, 2025.
