We wanted to let you know that Grand Island Senior High will be dismissing at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6.

Dismissing Senior High early on Wednesday will allow GISH students and staff the possibility to support our Islander Volleyball team who is competing at the State tournament in Lincoln.

A class schedule for a GISH early dismissal may be found on our website HERE.

Please note: Elementary and Middle Schools will remain on regular, full day schedules.

Here are next week’s State Volleyball Tournament details

• Islanders vs Omaha Westside - Wednesday (11/06), 5:00 p.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena

• If the Islanders win, they’ll compete again on Friday (11/08), 5:00 p.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena

Our Islanders put on an amazing show! Hope you took the opportunity to see it. They did not disappoint. We couldn't be more proud to showcase the talents of 100+ students in our Cast & Crew.

Friday November 8th Islander staff will have a day of Professional Learning on Friday the 8th of November! We are always working to develop our teachers skills and preparation in an effort to provide the best learning environments possible to GISH families. We believe in our team and our students. I have said this before:

These 3 things together will always produce some level of success.

After School Program (ASP) is designed to help students get a little extra support with their studies. Students are able to meet with GISH teachers in the Media Center after school. We will be having a full list of content teachers available Monday through Thursday each week posted on student announcements. Don't miss out on your opportunity to take advantage of experts guiding you to your preferred future.

All students driving to school are required to have a new parking permit visible in their car when parked on school property during school hours. Please stop by the West Office to get yours free of charge.

Patrons visiting Grand Island Senior High will need to call the school to inform our secretaries and campus team prior to arrival so we can best serve your needs. Our intention is a safe and predictable learning environment. Please have a photo ID available upon entry during school hours.
