Moms and Tots Baby Bottle Campaign!
If you are interested in helping with the Baby Bottle Campaign, there are bottles in the back of the church. The ministry of the Good Samaritan Family Services is in Ellsworth and give pregnancy and family care. This care is provided by supplying resources, education, and a loving relationships with young families. They see many families yearly and have served mothers and their children, preborn-5 years old, for 24 years. You can fill the empty baby bottle next week with change, bills, or checks (payable to First Presbyterian Church).
Christian Education Committee Working on NEW program for the fall!
The Christian Education committee has been working diligently on the new format for Junior Church, which will begin on September 7th.
This exciting program features Old Testament stories and the Parables of Jesus using wooden figures and a sand table for the Old Testament stories and cut out laminated figures on felt backgrounds for the parables. This is a program that our church used back when Abbie and Brooke were children. Their mom, Dee, taught the lessons in those days. Stacey also taught this program at the Boyne City Presbyterian Church.
Junior Church will follow the same format we follow in the Sanctuary and connect important elements of Christian worship.
STEP ONE
The second work bee to assemble the story scapes (this involves coloring the story characters and elements, cutting, laminating, and cutting again, and putting them in the wrapped shoe boxes) will be held in July. The specific date and times will be forthcoming after the July Christian Ed committee meeting. Please join us for good conversation and forward motion on this project for the children . If you have flat basket trays to donate, you can bring them to the church any Sunday.
STEP TWO
There will be a training later this summer for those already leading Junior Church and all those interested in learning about the new program. Even if you are not sure you might like to become a Junior Church leader, you are invited to the training, which will walk everyone through the steps and materials of the new program. Please attend if you are able.
Lastly, we are seeking additional volunteers to provide the Children's Message during worship. Pastor Jaime shares the scripture lesson for the day in advance and Children's Message providers create and share information with the children that helps them understand the scripture.
The sign up sheet is in the hallway off the sanctuary. We would love to add more message providers for the children. Our church family is blessed with people who love children. This is a wonderful opportunity to share with these growing Christians.
Thank you!

Our next Meet and Eat is July 14th! Dinner is at 5:30 pm. Please come, and bring a friend or two! It would be helpful if you could sign up so we know how much food to prepare. The sign-up will be in the Sanctuary Hallway and Fellowship Hall, or you may email Stacey at StaceyChipman317@gmail.com.
If you forget to sign up and want to come, PLEASE COME anyway! We will have plenty! It's all about the Loaves and Fishes!
Looking Ahead: A Time to Reconnect
As reported in our last newsletter and at our January Annual Congregational Meeting, Pastor Jaime will embark on a sabbatical in September and October 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for spiritual renewal, and her sabbatical theme is "Reconnect." This will be an ideal time for our congregation to reflect on how we too can reconnect with God, one another, and our community. Stay tuned for updates as we continue planning for this meaningful time!
