January is leaving us and as I type this what started as a rainy day is suddenly looking like a winter wonderland. The joys of winters in Michigan...we never know what we are going to get :).

We have a busy first week of February coming up. Conferences will be held on Tuesday, February 4 from 12:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday, February 11 from 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (If you do not have a conference scheduled please call the office at 269.565.4600 and we will assist you.) Tuesday, February 4 will also be a half day and students will be dismissed at 11:50 a.m. A sack lunch will be provided to all students on this day.

Also on Tuesday, February 4 we will have our rescheduled parent engagement with Will Weeks from Starr Commonwealth. This will take place in the gymnasium from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Please join us if you are able.

We have some exciting guests coming this next week to kick off Black History Month. On Monday we are excited to host some very special musicians and on Wednesday we will have a special presentation with some top chefs. We will be sure to post pictures in next week's newsletter from both of these events.

Thank you to the Lakeview Masque for treating us to the play Frozen; what a delightful time for our entire school. The students absolutely loved it!!!

All students at Prairieview Elementary receive free breakfast and lunch. If your child would like an extra entree (example: two slices of pizza on Friday) they can be purchased for $2.25. This needs to be communicated and paid for when they order lunch in the morning so the lunchroom can plan accordingly. Milk is also available for $0.70 for those that carry a cold lunch.
