Encountering Christ's Love Daily at St. Mary School
“Community is at the heart of all Catholic education, not simply as a concept to be taught, but as a reality to be lived … your students will learn to understand and appreciate the value of community as they experience love, trust, and loyalty in our schools and educational programs, and as they learn to treat all persons as brothers and sisters created by God and redeemed by Christ.” - Saint John Paul II
Helping students encounter Christ’s love daily is at the heart of everything we do here at St. Mary School. It is an incredible gift that we are able to weave our Catholic faith into all that we do and teach! As part of our dedication to meet the unique needs of each individual student spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially, we have started year two with the school-wide social emotional program, Friendzy.
Our school teaches friendship skills and emotional intelligence through the lens of Scripture with a focus on cultivating a safe and Christ-centered school community. Students are supported in the following areas:
Understanding of Christ-like living and healthy relationship skills
Development of self-confidence, emotional recognition and strengths identification
Self-management skills including understanding and managing behaviors, goal setting, stress management and perseverance
Making responsible decisions that align with Scripture and Catholic Values
Practicing empathy, perspective taking and kindness with peers
Communication skills, conflict resolution and teamwork
Our Catholic faith is the foundation of all we do and our hope is that these lessons will further equip our students with practical skills that will help them to live a life of virtue.
God Bless,
Ms. Silady
