A Message from Ms. Peterson
Hello MCP3 Families!
Our Tigers, Bulldogs, and Golden Eagles had so much fun at Apple Holler last week Thursday! The scholars were so excited to show me their apples and talk about the different activities they got to do. Thank you parents who chaperoned and supported our scholars on their first Field Trip of the year!
Quarter 1 is complete and teachers had time on Friday to reflect on what has gone well and what we will focus on moving into Quarter 2. Teachers finalized Q1 Report Cards for scholars and these will be shared with you during our Q1 Parent Teacher Conferences coming up on November 7th (evening) and 8th (morning). Parent Teacher conferences are mandatory for all scholars. Details of how to sign up for conferences is below.
Scholars have been having fun showing their MCP3 spirit and dressing in the related theme each day this week. Thank you for your support and for helping the class of 2039 show their school pride for the DOE Week! The Declaration of Excellence is a 6 stanza creed that our scholars recite daily! It is a tool that helps guide our scholars to meet our MCP mission, "Knowledge plus character pave the road to college and beyond." It is exciting to think that our scholars will be going to college in 2039!!
Here are a few important reminders and updates for the next couple of weeks:
Child Health Reports
Child Health Reports went home last week with all scholars. These reports must be signed by a physician and returned to your scholar's teacher ASAP. Thank you for your attention to this matter, we have already received many signed reports!
Tardy Policy - School starts at 8:00am
Getting to school on time is key to your child’s success – at school and in life. At Milwaukee College Prep, the learning begins from the moment scholars walk in the door. Parents/guardians/families are expected to ensure that their children are in school on time. Students who are late often miss essential routines and instruction, disrupt the learning of other children, and risk falling behind on our ambitious curriculum. We want to teach our students the importance of being on time. One of the most common reasons that people lose their jobs is persistent tardiness to work.
If your scholar will be arriving late with a doctor's excuse of because of a family emergency, parents or guardians must call the office 414-264-6007 by 8:15am to notify the school. Scholars arriving after 8:30am will be considered "tardy" and those arriving after 9:00am without proper notification by the parent/guardian will not be allowed to attend school that day. If there are habitual office calls for tardies the family must meet with the Director.
Change of clothes- Accepting donations
There are times when our scholars may have an accident and it is important for them to have a change of clothes on hand. Please be sure your scholar has a labeled change of clothes here at school. We are accepting donations of new or gently used pants to keep in the office. If you have any outgrown pants sizes 3T-size 6 please consider donating them to the main office.
MCP3 Fall Fun- November 1st
Scholars will engage in fun activities in their classroom and during Rauh Room time to celebrate fall. Scholars may wear costumes on this day as long as they are not scary costumes. Please no masks and no weapons or other hand held accessories. Scholars may also bring in treats to share with their classmates for an in-class Trick or Treating. Individually wrapped treats only please.
Please reach out to our Office Manager Ms. Perine by emailing cassandra.perine@mkeprep.com or calling our office 414-264-6007 with any questions or concerns related to your payment or enrollment.
With Love and Respect,
Ms. Peterson
