Meet Mrs. Cassell, our wonderful PE teacher! Check out the video below to learn more about her, PE at SIES, and even enjoy a song she wrote for teaching children how to throw underhanded!

Come join us TONIGHT, October 24th from 4-8 pm for our SIES Spirit Night at the Mex 1 on Sullivan's Island! Dine in or take out....the choice is yours! A portion of the proceeds for the night will be given directly back to the SIES PTA to sponsor events for our students and families. We hope to see you there!

We have had an amazing week "S.O.A.R."ing on a healthy course, emphasizing good choices and positive attitudes! Students have really colored the days, and we have enjoyed seeing all of their spirit this week! Don't forget to wear SIES gear or your favorite team shirt tomorrow!

Who will take the trophy this year....Clemson or Carolina??? Our Reading Rivalry Competition officially kicked off on Monday and will continue through November 19th. Make sure you are reading and logging your minutes into Beanstack! Information was sent home with all students on Monday. Questions concerning the Beanstack app? We are in need of 300 pumpkins to set up a pumpkin patch at our sister school, North Charleston Elementary School. TOMORROW IS OUR LAST DAY OF COLLECTION!

If you are able to donate any small "pie" pumpkins, please bring them to school tomorrow and place them in the bins in the lobby. Our PTA volunteers will go to NCES on October 31st to create a pumpkin patch for their students to "pick" a pumpkin.

The 3rd Annual Soar On, Skimmers Fun Run & 5K will take place on Saturday, November 9th at 8:30 am. Register today by clicking the button below. We hope to see you out on the beach! Spread the word....everyone is welcome!

A big thank you to 5th grader Kimberlyn Naylor who did an awesome job representing Sullivan's Island Elementary as a guest judge for the B.A.R.K. Rangers Halloween Event at Fort Moultrie. Sponsored by the Friends of Charleston National Parks, Kimberlyn served as a judge for the dog Halloween costume competition. It was a "PAWS"itively great event for all!

We will have our Fall Classroom Parties on Thursday, October 31st from 1 - 1:45 pm. Doors to the school will open at 12:50 pm. Parents are invited to attend this party.

Please be aware of the following guidelines:

• No younger or older siblings are permitted.
• Please DO NOT exceed two adults per student. Classroom space and parking is limited. We want the students to have enough room in their classrooms to enjoy the party.

Participants must provide their own equipment:

• Eye protection (goggles for girls/helmet for boys), stick, gloves, mouth guard, and cleats

• Please make sure any store you choose adjusts the sticks for both the girls and boys. (Cutting the aluminum shaft to length and sizing the pocket.)

Celebrate the season with us at our Fall Festival, a perfect event for families and friends to enjoy together! We have an afternoon packed with exciting activities, tasty treats, and festive fun for all ages.

• Date & Time: Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 3:00-5:00 PM
• Location: Church of the Holy Cross, 2520 Middle Street, Sullivan's Island, SC
• Trunk or Treat: Dress up in your favorite costumes and trick-or-treat from car to car, where decorated trunks will be filled with candy and surprises!
• Dunk Tank: Take a turn at the dunk tank! Will you be the one to dunk your favorite teacher, friend, spouse or kids?
• Games & Prizes: Test your skills with a variety of carnival games! From ring toss to putt-putt, we have something for everyone. Win exciting prizes as you play!
• Delicious Fall Treats: Satisfy your sweet tooth with popcorn, cotton candy, and our famous funnel cakes! These tasty treats are the perfect way to enjoy the flavors of fall.

On October 26th, the Isle of Palms Recreation Center will host a Halloween Golf Cart Parade and Carnival from 4-6 pm. Participants can register for the golf cart parade by clicking the link below or visiting www.iop.net. The top three decorated golf carts will receive prizes!
