Dear Families,

Yesterday, our fifth graders performed a school assembly and an evening event for Veterans Day . It was a beautiful tribute to all who have served. A special thank you to Mrs. Koll for directing such an incredible tribute.

Tomorrow is an early release and a non-attendance day for PreK students. We have a PreK family event with Turning Point on student behaviors from 12:30-1:30. We hope PreK families are able to join us.

These next two weeks are busy as we come to end of our first trimester. Student progress reports PreK-5 will be available on ParentVue on Wednesday, September 20th at noon. We hope you have scheduled your child's conference with the teacher. We are truly thankful for our Glacier Ridge community of learners.

Parent/Teacher Conference sign-up is now open. Please log into your ParentVue account to select a date and time that works for your schedule. Parent/Teacher Conference sign-up for Encore classes will open on Monday, November 18th.
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be hosted on Monday, November 25th, 8:00am-8:00pm and Tuesday, November 26th, 8:00-11:00 am.

Glacier Ridge is proud to support the Crystal Lake Food Pantry and looks forward to participating in the Community Harvest Food Drive again this year, a combined effort of the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Crystal Lake Community. Monetary donations are also accepted: checks can be made payable to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry.

Donations will be accepted through Friday, November 22nd.

Glacier Ridge Share Bear helps our families in need this holiday season. The Share Bear will be located in the main entrance foyer. If you would like to support, take a tag off the Share Bear, purchase the item, and return it unwrapped to the office with the original blue polar bear tag by Friday, December 13th. Thank you!

Our Lost and Found pile is growing! We've had many items turned in over the last few months. If you feel your student may be missing something, we encourage you to take a moment to look through the items during Parent/Teacher Conferences on Monday, November 25th and Tuesday, November 26th.

Any items that are not claimed during this time will be donated to a charitable organization. Please make sure to label your student's clothing and lunch boxes so lost items can be quickly identified and returned to the owner.

As we start the process of developing our new Strategic Plan, we invite you to provide feedback on the district. Please take a moment to share your thoughts in our School and Community Perception Survey. Your input will play a crucial role in shaping a plan that best supports our students and community.

• November 19th: Preview Day for students only - All Day,
  Open after PTA Meeting for PTA attendees only, until 7:30PM

• November 20th - 21st: classroom shopping for students only
• November 25th: 8AM-8PM the book fair is open during conferences for families
• November 26th: 8-11AM the book fair is open during conferences for families
  

We also need volunteers to help our Book Fair Run Smoothly. For EVERY shift you volunteer for, you get $5 off your order! If you volunteer for school hours you must be approved by Raptor. Click here to sign up!

Save the date! Our next Glacier Ridge Eats Out event is November 18th at Lou Malnati's from 11:00am-10:00pm. See the flyer for more details.

Join us for our next PTA Meeting on November 19th at 6:30pm in the Glacier Ridge Library. We will be discussing upcoming events, getting a school update from our School Administration, plus more. After our meeting you will be able to shop our Book Fair first. We hope to see you there!

Butter Braid Pickup is Friday, November 22nd at school from 3:30-5:30pm, at first entrance to school. If you arrive during student pickup between 3:00-3:45pm, please park and walk up, or wait until all student pickup cars and buses have left the lot. Please do not get in student pickup lane for Butter Braid pickup. We want to make sure student pickup is not compromised in any way, and keep student safety as first priority.

Glacier Ridge PTA plans and implements activities, events, and fundraisers that require parent/teacher volunteers to execute. These are the committees that are currently available and need your support! A few committees already have the chairs and volunteers needed - but if you have a special interest in one or more of them, let us know! Volunteers are needed in order to have these events!
