ELEMENTARY SAFTEY UPDATES
Fraser Public Schools continually reflects on the safety and security systems in place in its schools. After gathering feedback from staff and building leaders, the district will be purchasing additional two-way radios for all elementary classroom teachers.
At the start of the 2023-24 school year, the district purchased new two-way radios for all buildings. This consistency allows users to communicate with others in their building as well as anywhere else in the district. In the event of an emergency, these radios would allow for communication without relying on phone networks.
The additional radios will only be used during safety drills, building evacuations, and taken with the teachers outside at recess.
The new two-way radios will be purchased using Safety Grant funds. It is anticipated they will be installed in classrooms when we begin the 2024-25 school year.

1st Grade - Animal Superpowers
1st grade has been learning about “Animal Superpowers”. We did an investigation to determine the relationship between the shape of different bird beaks and the food each bird eats. We found that long, pointy beaks are great for picking up seeds and wide, flat beaks are best for scooping!
Arbor Day Tree Planting
Special thanks to the incredible Emerson Elementary students under Mrs. Christina Salisbury's and Principal Argiri's guidance. Your efforts in planting two trees for our Arbor Day Celebration were commendable. It was a joyous occasion to celebrate Arbor Day with our elected officials, Council Member Perry, Fraser Schools, our dedicated Public Works Department, and the wonderful residents of the City of Fraser.
