Dear Wildcats,
We hosted a very successful dance last Friday night. A good time was had by all! Thank you for your participation and thank you to our hard working PTO and our teacher and parent volunteers who made the night a success.

Starting Monday is Read Across America Week! This is an annual celebration of reading, learning, and the importance of books and acquiring knowledge. We have fun plans for celebrating! There will be themed dress days based around the many amazing books by Dr. Seuss. We also have a series of guest readers that will be coming to our school. Please see the dress days below:
Monday: Hat Day, inspired by The Cat in the Hat (wear your favorite hat)
Tuesday: Sock Day, inspired by Fox in Socks (wear crazy socks)
Wednesday: Mismatch Day, inspired by Wacky Wednesday (wear your craziest outfit)
Thursday: Twin Day, inspired by Thing 1 and Thing 2 (dress the same as a friend)
Friday: Shine Like a Star, inspired by The Sneetches (dress like a Rockstar)
Our NJ CAP lessons will begin next week. Topics covered for our students will be decision making, leadership, conflict vs. bullying, the importance of upstanders, cyberbullying, internet safety and peer supports. Please visit www.njcap.org for more information.
This year’s Kids Heart Challenge is ongoing...please see our most recent update letter below. It is not too late to join our team by visiting

Kindergarten Royal Ball
To celebrate the culmination of our CKLA Unit on kings and queens, our kindergarten classes celebrated with a Royal Ball. In the unit, students learned about diverse monarchies from many different nations and cultures over time. They reviewed maps and historical figures during the time periods. At the Royal Ball, dressed as royalty and were sang to by our 5th grade drama production students!
Freddy's Fundraiser!

Come to Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers on Route 37 on March 13 between the hours of 4-8 PM for an outstanding meal. 20% of the event sales will benefit our school programs and initiatives. Parent Workshop - Guest Speaker
The Toms River Schools Mental Health and Wellness Committee presents an outstanding parent workshop on Emotional Regulation in students. This event will be held on March 12 at Silver Bay Elementary School. Please see the inforamtion below in English and Spanish. This is an outstanding opportunity!

Our Kindness Club created an amazing collabrative kindness poster this week. It was hung outside Mrs. Riley's office in honor of her winning our Educational Professional of the Year Award!
Food Drive - Final Update
Mrs. Therien's 5th Grade class would like to thank the school community for their amazing contritubutions to the People's Pantry of Toms River. Their 'Just Because' Food Drive will benefit so many during the month of March.

Junior Chefs Student Cooking Challenge!
Calling all Junior Chefs! Do you love to eat? Make what you eat? Come up with great recipes for your family to try? Are you in grades 3 - 5? This is the challenge for you! Fill out an entry form before March 22nd with your favorite Tortilla recipe and you will be in the running to compete in a live competition at Toms River High School East on April 18, 2024. Check the cafeteria for entry forms and more details. The winning student recipe will be featured on the May District School Menu!
