Your Weekly Update from Memorial Elementary School

January 24, 2025
Principal's Message
Dear Memorial Families,
As we continue to settle into the new year, I wanted to share some exciting updates and upcoming events happening in our school community.
This month, students are working on their winter benchmark assessments. These assessments are an important tool that helps us understand each child’s progress and identify areas where additional support or enrichment may be needed. Thank you for encouraging your child to do their best—we’re so proud of the effort they’re putting into their learning!
In the coming weeks, our staff will be participating in data meetings to review these assessment results and make adjustments to support individual and group needs. Additionally, we are continuing our commitment to professional growth through targeted professional development opportunities designed to strengthen instructional practices and deepen student engagement.
The Report of Student Progress (ROSP) viewing window will also be opening soon. This is an opportunity for families to review their child’s progress and celebrate their achievements while identifying ways we can all work together to support continued growth. Please keep an eye out for more information about accessing these reports.
We’re thrilled to share that our recent school-wide band concert was a huge success! Congratulations to our talented students and Mr. Rice for an incredible performance. Events like this highlight the power of the arts to bring our community together and celebrate the creativity of our learners.
As we look ahead, we’re preparing to celebrate the 100th day of school, a wonderful milestone for our students and staff. This day is always filled with fun and meaningful activities that reflect the progress we’ve made so far this year.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we’re creating a school community where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed. I look forward to seeing all the amazing things we’ll accomplish as we move through the second half of the school year!
Warm regards,
Troy Holding

Principal Coffee Chat
I am excited to invite you to our first Principal Coffee Chat with me, Mr. Holding. This will be a casual and welcoming opportunity to stop by, enjoy a cup of coffee, and have a meaningful conversation together. The event will take place on Friday, February 7th @8:50am in our school cafeteria.
There’s no formal agenda for this initial meet-up—just a chance for us to connect, build relationships, and discuss how we can strengthen our partnership in supporting our students and school community. Whether you have questions, ideas, or simply want to say hello, your presence and voice are truly valued.
I look forward to seeing you there and building an even stronger connection with you!
