Solon Robinson Construction Update
July 30, 2024
Greetings, Stinger Families!
Air Quality Results
As noted in the parent message earlier this week, CPCSC voluntarily performed an air quality test at Solon Robinson Elementary. This test was completed by an outside organization.
The test showed that there is no immediate risk to the health and safety of individuals in the school occupied portions of the building. The current dust control methods being utilized during this assessment are effective at reducing the transmission of dust from the construction areas to the school occupied areas. Based on the data collected, there is no evidence of elevated exposure in the school occupied areas to respirable dust, lead, asbestos or mold. Levels of airborne particulates were identified to be below target objectives established for this project.
Again, we ask that if you ever have any concerns about your child or the construction in our building, please reach out to us rather than turning to social media for answers. We are here to help.

Updates from the last month:
Our gymnasium was painted.
The cafeteria (not currently a space occupied by students) started roofing.
The site for the playground has been prepared.
Carpet and cabinets were added to non-occupied classrooms and some hallways.
Coming up in September:
- Begin painting the cafeteria addition.
- Finishing roof above kitchen. (Cafeteria and kitchen are not occupied spaces)
- Playground installation will be begin
- Carpet finished in hallways with classrooms.
- Begin installing gym athletic equipment
Check out our progress:
Our art room. You'll notice that some ceiling tiles are not installed. This is to ensure access for workers who are completing items after hours. There is no danger to students as celing tiles are cosmetic.
Hallways of student occupied spaces have carpeting.
This photo doesn't look exciting, but it is. This is our sprinkler pump. Solon Robinson Elementary did not previously have a fire sprinkler system. Adding one is an example of the behind-the-scenes upgrades for safety that are part of the project.
