Spring Canyon Newsletter

It is hard to believe that it is already May. The students at Spring Canyon represent our PACK so well and are ending the year strong by being Positive, Accountable, Courageous and Kind. See the stories below that include important reminders for the end of the year! We hope you have an amazing summer!

We already held course selection, but don't forget that you also need to register for the school year. To do this you can go to nebo.edu/registration or our website (scms.nebo.edu) and click on the registration tab. This needs to be done for every student, every year.

Make sure you are up-to-date on school immunizations - our 7th grade students need additional boosters to be current. Now is a good time to schedule a well-check with your doctor! Also, the county has various clinics that can fit you in. Information regarding immunizations and waivers are found on our school website or by following the link below.

The nearby universities are sponsoring summer camps this year. See the attached flyers for more details about fun and exciting activities your child could do this summer.

We have so many fun intramurals planned this year! They can be found on our school's website under the Parents - Intramural tab. May Intramurals include a Pickeball and Basketball. Check out the website for permission slips and for the Intramural activities that will happen each month.

Here are some important dates and information about the last week of school.

• All lockers must be cleaned out by May 16th. Students will no longer have access to their locker after this date.
  
• Yearbook distribution May 20, 2025. If you did not purchase one already, we will have a few to sell starting the morning of May 21, 2025 - Cost is $25.00 - sold on a first come first serve basis
• End of year Field Day - reward activity May 21, 2025
• School ends at 11:45 on May 22, 2025 - Students may only bring a yearbook/notebook & pen.
• Summer office hours 8:00 AM-1:00 PM Monday-Thursday

Year end testing continues. Please do your best to make sure your student is at school and on time, especially during the testing period. We are so excited to showcase the knowledge our students have learned this year!

We are nearing the end of the year - please check your student's lunch balance and make sure it is paid in full. If you need to pay you can by logging onto your icampus account or send cash or a check with your student to pay in the lunch room.

If you think you qualify for free/reduced lunch please apply (every year) through your parent portal in icampus. Click here for more information on reduced lunch.

Along those same lines, if you have not paid your student's school fees, they need to be paid ASAP! You can do so by contacting the finance office at 801-609-2400, or you can go to SCMS.

Please help us to make sure that your student(s) is/are following Nebo District's dress code policy. As the weather gets warmer and sometimes clothes don't fit the same way they did last fall, it is an especially important reminder. The full dress code policy can be found by clicking here.Essentially, students should be covered from shoulders to mid-thigh - this means shorts should be mid-thigh, tummies should be covered, and shirt sleeves need to reach kids' shoulders (thick-strap tank tops ... no spaghetti straps).

• Monday August 11th is the open house for all students to come and meet their new teachers and get familiar with their schedule. It will be from 1:00-3:00 pm.
• Wednesday August 13th is the first day of school.
• Wednesday August 27th school picture day

May 9: All Library Books are Due
