- HOLICONG HUDDLE - Please see here for our recap from the fall season at Holicong. A shout out to all of our student-athletes for representing us on and off the field, our parents for supporting our programs, and our coaches for putting in many hours of time to lead these programs!
- WINTER BAND CONCERT - We are excited to kick off our winter concert series this Thursday with our winter band concert. Please come out to support our students!
RED RIBBON WEEK - Thank you to our Power of Positive Students (POPS) group and Mrs. Louderback and Mrs. Fox for hosting our Red Ribbon Week Celebration and for the students and staff that participated.
EDUCATION SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS DAY - A huge shout out to our Support Staff! Every day should be an appreciation day for our team but thank you to the Humanitarians of Holicong & Student Leadership team for hosting a breakfast and everyone a personalized notebook.
WHY CHARACTER MATTERS PRESENTATION - Mark Weinleaver's message was both engaging and timely with the focus on character and how the use of social media is so powerful in today's world. He used real-life examples to demonstrate that what students post and share online can define them for their entire lives as their digital footprint lasts forever. Thanks to our students for being a respectful audience and we hope this message resonates.
STUDENT HANDBOOK REMINDER – A reminder to all students, parents, and guardians that students that the students were provided a free student handbook the first day of school. Students are required to have the handbook with them as it is used for a variety of purposes including a sign out for students leaving class, HW & assignment record, and other school activities. Please see students SMART goal completed last week in I & E so you are aware of and can assist with completing this goal!
MySchoolApps - Home Page – Application for Free & Reduced Lunch
Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) (pa.gov) – Link to application and resources to learn more about this program.
COLONIAL CORES & EXPECTATIONS – It was a great first week with students as we reviewed basic overview of expectations, policies, and procedures and following up this week as noted above. We have created the Colonial Core page on our website for our community to access the overview of the Colonial Cores and what we teach and the expectations we have for students and all of us in a variety of settings. We will continue to model and revisit these throughout the year!
FUN with FRIENDS and with Mr. Breeden & INC
9th GRADE UPDATES
On Friday 11/22, the Freshman Class attended a Tour of the Century assembly featuring student musical and dance performances based on the Roaring 1920s and the Harlem Renaissance.
8th GRADE UPDATES
On Monday, November 4, students in Spanish 1 celebrated DÃa de los Muertos, Day of the Dead, by watching Coco and eating yummy treats. DÃa de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1st and 2nd that honors and remembers those who have passed away. Friends and family create altars in their homes filled with pictures, candles, flowers and food, as well as decorate tombstones of their loved ones who have passed away.
7th GRADE UPDATES
7-2: The fourth installment of the Team 7-2 Games is completed! The team ventured to the Tennis Courts last Friday and competed in an oldie but goodie 7-2 game, Jump Around! Each team had three jump ropes tied together and the students had to complete three jumps in a row, gradually adding additional jumpers after each successful series of three jumps. It was a tight competition, but Mr. Barno's team emerged victorious! The current overall winner is still Hilbert, but there is a trio tied for second place: Barno, Brunner, and Garland! It's getting interesting!
In the continuing quest for the Victory Cup, Team 7-0 competed in a scavenger hunt last Friday. Students worked together to complete challenges, taking photos of their myriad achievements. The competition was close--with mere seconds separating the winners, but Mrs. Madden's I & E class snagged first place (again)! Tied for second were Ms. D'Arcangelo's and Mrs. Smith's I&E classes with Ms. Ambrosini's I & E class taking third place. Mrs. Madden's class stands as the overall leader right now with the other classes clamoring to snatch the Victory Cup from them in our November competitions. (photos texted to KS)
