6th Grade Orientation on Monday!
Calling all member of the Class of 2031! We are inviting all of our incoming 6th grade students to our Tiger in Training 6th Grade orientation program on Monday from 9:00am - Noon. Students will meet with the 6th Grade team, set up their lockers, and learn about what it takes to be a Bellevue Tiger! If you have any questions, please email Bruce Tosolt at bruce.tosolt@bellevue.kyschools.us.
Schedule Pick Up and Back to School Bash
Help us to kick off the 2024-2025 school year at the Back to School Bash. This family friendly event will take place on Wednesday, August 7th from 5:00pm - 6:30pm at Ben Flora Gymnasium and is open for all Bellevue students in grades K-12. Students will have the opportunity to pick up their schedule for the upcoming school year, pay their school fees, meet with teachers, and engage with community partners. We can't wait to see everyone at the bash!
School Supplies
Bellevue Middle School/High School students do not need to worry about purchasing school supplies for the upcoming school year. In an effort to reduce the financial burden on families during the back to school season, the school provides all school supplies for all students in grades 6-12. On the first day of school, students will just need to bring their school owned device, and charging cable with them.
2024-2025 Device Deployment Nights
We are very fortunate that Bellevue Middle School/High School is a 1:1 school. That means all students receive a laptop from the school for them to use for the entire school year. Students are not permitted to bring in their own devices for instruction. For safety purposes, students are required to use the devices issued by the school. Students can pick up their device on Monday, August 12th, or Tuesday, August 13th from 1:00pm - 7:00pm at the school. A parent/guardian is required to attend with the student to pick up their device. There is a $25 technology fee to get the device. There is also an optional $50 insurance fee. The insurance fee covers one breakage event. Parents can purchase up to two insurance events.
2024-2025 Student Handbook and District Code of Conduct
The Bellevue Middle School/High School Student Handbook and District Code of Conduct for the upcoming school year has been completed. Please click on the link below to review both documents. Students and parents are required to sign the acknowledgment form and the District Technology Acceptable Use form. All forms can be turned in when you pick up your device on one of our device deployment nights. Contact Mr. Spicher at scott.spicher@bellevue.kyschools.us with any questions.
New School Cell Phone/Device Policy
As noted in our student handbook, Bellevue Middle School/High School will be following a new cell phone/device policy in order to protect the instructional time of the day. Students are not permitted to have cell phones or ear buds in class during the instructional time. When students enter the classroom, they will put their devices into a clear pocket that is hanging on the classroom door. They will be able to take their cell phone and ear buds with them when they leave the classroom. The policy will be for all classes in grades 6-12.
Students are permitted to have their phones and ear buds on them during arrival, transitions in between classes, lunch, and dismissal. In the event of an emergency, students will need the permission of building administration to use their cell phone during instructional time. We will send you and your student a full copy of our student handbook as we get closer to the school year starting.
Outside Food and Drinks
Due to federal breakfast/lunch guidelines, students are not permitted to bring outside food an drinks into the building. This includes large caffeinated drinks from places like Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. This also applies to our students who are taking classes at Gateway or NKU. Students are permitted to carry water bottles with them during the day.
Kentucky Safe Schools Tip Line
In order to promote a safe and health school environment, we encourage all of our students to report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or mental health concerns to a trusted adult. If they do not feel comfortable talking to an adult in the building, they can always report concerns to the Kentucky Safe Schools Tip Line at 1-866-393-6659. All reports to the Kentucky Safe Schools Tip Line are completely anonymous.
New Admin Team Members
I am excited to welcome two new members to our admin team for the 2024-2025 school year. Ms. Staci Paff will be our Assistant Principal. She brings a wealth of administrative and coaching experience from Boone County, and Newport. Erin King is our new Guidance Counselor. Ms. King brings 18 years of experience to BMHS and is excited to be a part of the Tiger family! Please join me in welcoming both of them to the team as we get the school year started.
Master Schedule Change
We have made a minor adjustment to our master schedule for the 2024-2025 school year. The instructional day will begin for all students at 8:00am with their 1st block classes. We made this move to place an emphasis on attendance, and our instructional time. All students are considered tardy at 8:01am with the exception of our students that attend Gateway for dual enrollment courses. Students who attend Gateway should arrive to school by 8:50am. They will make their selections for their flex block classes each day and then be ready to depart BMHS for Gateway at 9:00am. We will still operate on our early release day schedule every Wednesday. Students will be dismissed at 2:00pm on early release days. Please click on the link below for a full copy of our new master schedule.
