Happy New Year, Falcon Staff!

Welcome back to second semester. We hope you had a marvelous winter break so that you are ready for 2025. Please be sure to read all information for the start of the semester.

SUHSD Return Dates

Teachers return on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025. IA's and Campus Assistants return on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2024. Please reference the SUHSD Calendar at this link.

Professional Development

January 13, 2025, is our site professional development day. Continental breakfast will be served starting at 7:30am. PD will begin promptly at 8:00am and run through to lunch. Then the afternoon is for you, your PLC and/or department.

We will participate in PD with the following DLT to drive our work.

"By the end of this morning’s PD, PLCs will identify a next step from the “Choose Your Own Adventure” menu options and create a collaborative product related to outcomes, instructional strategies, and/or assessments that increases access for all students, with special attention to English Learners and students with disabilities, to the disciplinary knowledge, literacy, and life skills needed to be college and career-ready."

Teachers, if you decided to use that day as vacation time, make sure that you report it into Frontline and state that no sub is needed.

Student Presentations

Expectation Presentations for students will open the semester. Each grade level will have a presentation in the MPR and Cafeteria both Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 14-15 during P.E. classes.

FAC

FAC will be held in the library on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025 at 3:20pm.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

There will not be school classes on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025 in honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025 with a Regular Day Bell Schedule. View all HTM Calendar events at this link.

SSC

School Site Council Meeting will be on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025 in Room 304 at 3:30pm.

Elementary School Visits

Please be advised that beginning on January 22-30, 2025, feeder elementary schools will be visiting Hilltop Middle Schools. Students will meet with HTM Counselors and also partake in a school tour led by ASB Students.

Faculty Meeting

The first Faculty Meeting of the semester will be on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 3:20pm currently scheduled to be in the MPR.

Falcon Scholars

Falcon Scholars will begin the week of Jan. 27, 2025 in the cafeteria and run from 3:20-5:20pm.

Saturday Academy

Saturday Academy will begin on February 1, 2025. Students may work on assignments or make up tardies during Saturday Academy.

It is our collective expectation that everyone on campus will uphold the cell phone use policy as outlined in the district's board policy as well as in our handbook:

1. Upon entry, all cell phones must be turned off and placed in the backpack.
2. If a staff member directs a student to put it away, please listen and put cellphone in backpack.
3. Cell phones are not allowed in the bathroom. If students are caught with cellphone in the bathroom, the phone will be taken immediately and must be picked up by the parents. NO EXCEPTIONS.
4. If a staff member takes a cell phone away, they will give it back to student at the end of each period UNLESS it warrants being taken to the main office.
