Week of March 16TH
Dear Killam Families,
Our Killam Koalas are doing a fantastic job in our Readathon! As of today, we have read a whopping 77,700 minutes—amazing! This message comes from our wonderful PTO, who is cheering on all our readers! Thanks to their dedication, we’ve already earned a dance party at lunch and are well on our way to reaching our all-school goals of slushies at Field Day and the ultimate reward—silly stringing Principal Fulton! Keep up the great reading!
If you haven’t started an account yet, there’s still time! You have two more weeks to participate. Use this link to set up your dashboard and log your minutes.
We are also excited to experience a special Lion King Jr. school rehearsal on Friday and hope you can join us for our performances next weekend! It’s going to be a fantastic show!
Finally, a reminder that report cards will be available in the portal on Friday. We want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible growth of our students—we are so proud of their hard work and progress this year! These grades reflect what students should know by the end of the school year, so if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child's classroom teacher.
Thank you for your ongoing support—we love watching our students thrive!
All the best,
Lindsey Fulton, Principal

From the Health Office
Hello Families,
I hope everyone is doing well. Though it is still flu season, we are experiencing fewer cases than earlier in the winter which is good news. However, we are seeing some cases of strep throat at school.
The Reading Schools District website has been updated with information which may be helpful. Here is the most recent information regarding strep throat:
Please be careful to watch for symptoms and please remember school protocol regarding illness. A child should stay at home for:
Fever of 100 degrees or higher. A child with a fever should not return until they have been fever-free without a fever reducer such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen for 24 hours.
Infectious illness such as strep throat for which they have been treated with antibiotics less than 12 hours.
Vomiting or diarrhea.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Sharon Grottkau, BSN, RN, NCSN
