TEA UPDATES
- Fall Snapshot is approaching!
- Code CTE students under the Perkins IV rules one last time. This is your opportunity to enter all IBCs earned by your students up to this point.
- Add Programs of Study you currently offer in fall Snapshot for TEA to gather baseline data. (Use Completer status criteria - 4 or more credits in 3 or more courses, including an advanced course; to determine if it is a viable POS.) - Accountability Systems ~ PBMAS is no longer. TEA has moved to Results-Driven Accountability - RDA and Effective Schools Framework (ESF) for School Improvement. (ESF is managed by the Center for Effective Schools- CES)
- Industry-Based Certifications (IBCs) - Link to one-pagers. For accountability credit, you must use an approved vendor.
- CTE Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment will be required during the 2019-2020 school year. TEA is creating the assessment and training to be held at ESC Region 11. Release of your 2020-2021 Perkins application will hinge on successful submission of the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment. **Training coming soon!

TEA Programs of Study and Perkins V Training
October 18th
The proposed programs of study go into effect for the 2020-2021 school year and will allow Texas to meet the federal program approval requirements within the Strengthening CTE for 21st Century Act (Perkins V). This interactive day of learning will include time for local planning. We recommend that you bring a charged device.

CTE- Expert to Expert: Connecting Industry Practitioners and Educators. This full-day conference has a focus on industry support in the areas of Engineering, IT, and Manufacturing as well as important sessions on SPED in CTE, Nontraditional students and equity, child labor laws, building strong industry partnerships, engaging industry in rural communities, Labor Market Data, Literacy Tool Belt, Leveraging Your CTE Data for Improved Accountability and Program Performance, Bringing STEM Outdoors, and more! It will be held at ESC Region 11, and registration is open!

Get to know the resources, best practices for implementation, and classroom uses. Customize your own schedule with how-to sessions from TexQuest providers as well as opportunities for sharing best practices in round-table discussions or group planning with coworkers.
TexQuest has amazing free resources to prep for IBC exams, SAT, ACT, and more! This conference will benefit your teachers who need exam preparation resources.

Counselor Summit SAVE THE DATE!

The annual Counselor Summit is scheduled and will be hosted here at ESC Region 11. We will have a variety of topics addressing the many needs of school counselors.
