2023/2024 Registration for New Students
To register a new student, you will need the following documents:
- Birth Certificate (To be eligible for Kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old, on or before Sept. 1)
- Immunization Records
- Proof of Address (piece of mail with parent/guardian name and current address)
For current Sage students, every fall you are asked to verify your child's information. The online Enrollment Verification will be available this fall through ParentVue for parents of returning students. The verification process updates all contact and emergency information and is required every year.
Dress Code Reminders
Students are to wear their shoes at all times while in school. To encourage communication and reduce distractions, students may not wear hats indoors. Hat are welcome outside at recess.
We strongly encourage that all clothing, including hats be labeled with your child's first and last name.
Notes from Nurse Stephanie
As we prepare for Spring, it's a great time to consider updating your student's backpacks or cubbies with a spare change of clothing. Accidents of all kinds happen and it's convenient and comforting for your child to have an extra pair of pants, socks and underwear available as needed.
Likewise, as you are updating your children's dressers, if you find some lightly used sweatpants you are passing along, please consider donating to the Nurse's office. Storage space is limited, but I would love to keep a few pairs of neutral-colored sweats (please no holes or stains!) in a stash for emergencies and would gladly take a pair or two off your hands. Thank you!
Canal Safety
Sage Elementary is close to many canals and all students need to be aware and know safety rules. Canals are dangerous and should not be used for any recreational activity. Even if the surface water appears smooth and calm, there are many areas where the current can swiftly pull an individual under—especially a child. The canal system and ditch roads of North Unit Irrigation District are considered private property and are not for public use. The district also periodically uses herbicides in the water, which can cause skin irritation.
- Never swim in irrigation canals.
- Keep young children and pets away from canals.
- Never jump in to rescue pets. Call 911 for help.
- Do not play near or on canal banks. They are steep and can be slippery.
