I hope your students enjoyed the snow day yesterday—they certainly had a blast playing in the snow at school today! Just a quick reminder: if the “feels like” temperature is 10 degrees or higher, we will have outdoor recess, as long as conditions allow (e.g., no rain, ice, etc.).

Classroom Instruction Update

As we wrapped up January, our grade-level teams met with instructional coaches and support staff to review winter data and plan small-group instructional supports. This process is essential for identifying student needs and providing targeted interventions to ensure every child receives the support they need to succeed.

Summer School & Programs

Today, I met with district leaders to discuss elementary summer programming options. As we get closer to spring, you’ll receive more details about available opportunities for your child. At Morse, we will continue to offer in-person Title I summer school, focusing on Reading and Math skills. Additionally, we’re excited to bring back Morse Summer Nights, a series of family-friendly events that combine learning and fun. Stay tuned for more information!

We Need Noon Aides!

With Mr. Bruce’s retirement and other scheduling changes, we are actively looking for additional noon aides to support our students during lunch and recess. This is a Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM–1:30 PM shift. If you’re interested or would like more information, please reach out to me or Mrs. Hessler at lhessler@troy.k12.mi.us.

Winter Break

We have no school on Monday and Tuesday for Winter Break. School resumes on Wednesday, February 19th.

1. Log onto the Power School Parent Portal at https://ps.troy.k12.mi.us

2. Click on the Report Card icon

3. Report cards are only accessible through a Web browser (computer or mobile). Report cards may not open through the mobile app.

“Grades and Attendance” at the top of the left column with “Report Card” farther down the column.
