Trailblazer Building Goal: Restorative Practices/PBIS
Step 1
Monday, August 15th and Tuesday August 16th
2. Teachers will pass out Olympic Ticket to the Games during each assessment conference (so parents and students know what is coming.)

8:50- Julie makes morning announcement
9:00-10:00 Classrooms will create their own Class Flag (Blank Flag will be provided) but please have other materials to add to your flag.
Create Class Flag- create a flag that represents classroom Motto demonstrating being respectful, responsible, and safe. After the assembly, the flags will be displayed in the large main hallway or on the wall with the olympic rings near the Olympic wall.
Students will choose a flag bearer who will represent the flag. The whole class will walk the main hallways of the school (the big circle) to represent their classroom entering the games. They will then walk into the gym for our assembly. Once all seated, I will call out each flag bearer up and have them stand with your classroom flag on the stairs of the gym. I will read out your Mottos and have 1 student carry the real olympic torch and place it on the alter

Talk about what PBIS is and how we will kick off our school year with the Olympics. We are TBE Champions and we will go for the GOLD.
Overview of the next three days
- End with the Opening Ceremonies Video created with the Katy Perry Rise Song.
- Students are dismissed and head back to class. Teachers will have this resource for activities and a scope and sequence of the "events".

We are all connected...
The PD Department will be out to facilitate a all school restorative strategies seminar with our students. TBE staff and students will participate in a Olympic themed strategies seminar focusing on Classroom and School Community.
When: Schedule Monday August 22nd from 9am-3:15
Where: Gym
Set Up: 5 Rotations (set up to represent the 5 Olympic Rings).
What do I do when I walk in the Gym? Teacher and students will walk in and sit in the chairs provided and we will facilitate the opening circle. Students will then rotate from one "RING" to another. At each rotation, they will create a paper ring with a phrase or word on it and then link it to their next ring. Our "RINGS" represent the following...

What IS Restorative:
