How to get students ready and able to learn with Health Ed

Healthy kids are better learners. To ensure all kids are ready to learn, Michigan has required comprehensive health education at all building levels.
Who should attend Oakland Schools Health Education Learning Communities?
Oakland County School District Staff that plan and evaluate the implementation of and/or implement any health related instruction for ALL K-12 Students.
Titles vary widely by local context, and commonly include: Health Subject Area Coordinator, Sex Education Supervisor*, Curriculum Director, SEL Lead, MTSS Coordinator, Health Teacher, Classroom Teacher, Social Worker, Counselor, etc.
*Legally required position, if your district offers sex education content.

11:30am- 12:00pm: Lunch with district leadership attending AM Health Education Leaders Network Session(s)
12:00- 1:30pm: Selected Learning Community (options listed below)
1:30- 3:00pm: Individual Consultation and Implementation Planning or District Sex Education Supervisors Community
What topics are part of K-12 Health Education?
Topics within a district health education course address all areas of child and adolescent health. The emphasis can vary based on localized data. Some topics are legally required at the State and/or Federal level.
