How To Setup And Use Parent Portal
Important Parent Portal/Parent Campus App Information!
Welcome to the Briggs HS INFINITE CAMPUS PARENT PORTAL Overview!
We have a goal at Briggs HS that 100% of our families will have active accounts for the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and complete the annual update. Why? The simple answer is that that it helps improve our communication. Keeping your address, phone, numbers, and email up to date helps:
- the teachers the communicate classroom information.
- ensure that you will get all school related informational phone calls from Principal Pam Smith.
- receive attendance calls and information
- ensure that everyone receives newsletters such as this one!
- the school to be able to contact you quickly in the event of an emergency.

The Purpose of Parent Portal -
Is Your Parent Portal Account Activated?
Parents/guardians MUST update your parent portal to receive information like:
- School communication (phone calls, attendance calls, phone dialers, school newsletter, emails)
- School Bus Transportation/view bus route
- Update Contact Information and Address
- Teacher Contact
- Grades and Course Schedules
- Daily Attendance
- Paperless Applications for: School Choice, Summer School, and Career Tech
- Missed Assignments for Middle and High schoolers
- Pay Fees
- AND SO MUCH MORE!
Note: Parent/guardian can also download the Campus Parent App to your phone! Adjust your profile notification settings to receive important notifications like attendance, grades, assignments directly to your phone. See details below.

WANT TO USE A SMARTPHONE OR TABLET TO ACCESS THE PARENT PORTAL?
There's an app for that!
- Download the Infinite Campus PARENT app to your phone.
- Type 'Columbus' when it asks for the district then select CCS and Ohio
- You are either a NEW USER or an EXISTING USER

New User
Activating Your Account
If you have never accessed the Parent Portal, you will need a16-digit activation key. This was given to you upon enrollment of your student. If you have misplaced this information, please email or call Barbara Reed at the FACTLine to obtain your activation key/code. Send an email and include legal guardian’s/parent’s name, picture ID and full legal name and birthdate of child. You can also go to your child’s school with your picture ID and the secretary or records department can give you the code.
- Go to the page for New Users
- Click on the button that says NEW USER ACTIVATION.
- Enter your ACTIVATION CODE (We know the 16 digit activation codei s long - that helps keep the data secure - so type carefully. Once the code has been activated, it can’t be used again.)
- Follow the prompts to set up your username/password and to add a recovery email address.
When you make a username and password, SAVE IT! This will be your account information until your child/ren graduate/s! Also remember the email you used to enroll your student. Many technical issues come from parents forgetting these key pieces can lead to missed due dates, and frustrations.

Existing User
Go to the Infinite Campus login for Existing Users
Enter your user name and password.
PARENTS: Make sure you are logging into the PARENT Portal, NOT the student portal!
*If you have a user name but have forgotten your password, please click 'forgot password' after entering your username. If you have forgotten your username, click "forgot username" Your reset instructions will be sent to the email address you used when you originally setup your parent portal account.

REMEMBER!!!
- Only those listed as 'guardians' upon enrollment at CCS may have access to the Parent Portal
- There are separate activation keys/codes for each guardian or parent so each guardian or parent can set up their own individual user name and password
- If there is a desire to remove a parent or caregiver that is listed as 'guardian,' you will need to contact CCS Central Enrollment at (614) 365-4011 or the CCS Fact Line (614) 221-3228.
Getting Started
Forgot your Username or Password?
NOTE: You MUST remember the email address you first signed up with in order to reset or find these items. If you cannot remember this email address, you can contact the Parent Portal Access and present your:
- Name
- Photo ID
- Student Number or(student name and their D.O.B)

Video Tutorials for:
Viewing Your Student's ID Number
- Click on the top left 3 lines and select the TODAY TAB
- Click the top right drop down menu of your student's profile picture.
- Select the student you want to know more about
- Their ID # is next to their profile photo
*If you cannot see their information, make sure you logged in initially on the "parent portal", not the "student portal"
ANNUAL UPDATE
Important Annual Forms are also completed online through the Annual Update in the Portal. This includes acknowledgements such as Emergency Contact Information, Consent for Release of Student Information, Internet Acceptable Use, FERPA Rights, and the Compact Form.
Go to the 3 bars/lines at the top left of the screen
Select 'More'
Select "Annual Update'

TRANSPORTATION
- Parents and guardians can confirm their eligible student’s yellow bus transportation route by logging into Parent Portal then click the transportation tab to view their student's route information.
- Families needing assistance logging into Parent Portal can contact Jessica Householder at parentportalaccess@columbus.k12.oh.us.
- Transportation eligible students who are coming from a charter or private school need to Opt In for transportation through Parent Portal.

Need a Different Language?
- Go to the figure of a person at the top right of the screen
- Select 'Language'
- Choose from eight different languages in which you may view the Parent Portal

Viewing Grades
- Go to the menu (3 bars/horizontal lines at the top left hand corner)
- Click 'Grades'
- If you don't know what a grade means, click on the arrow to the right of the grade
- Click on the 'i' to the right of the grade
- An explanation should appear the describes what each grade means
- If there is not grade, then it is still being processed or updated
Viewing Attendance
- Go to the menu (3 bars/horizontal lines at the top left hand corner)
- Click 'Attendance'
- Check each quarter and review 'unexcused absences' in red
- Look at the date of the absence or tardy (not the number of absences as it refers to the number of classes missed, not the number of days, i.e., reading class, math class, gym class, etc.)
- If an 'unexcused absence' or 'tardy' is due to an illness, doctor's appointment, religious holiday, or family funeral, please let the office know so it may be reviewed and possibly changed to an 'excused absence'

Updating Address
- Go to the menu (3 bars/horizontal lines at the tope left hand corner)
- Click on 'More'
- Scroll down to 'Annual Update'
- Follow the instructions
- Many families will upload a utility bill or signed lease with the guardian's name on it and new address and signature page (there are also other forms of documentation CCS will accept as well)
- If a guardian's name is not on the documentation, please refer to the Verification of Residency form below that will need to be completed and uploaded in the Annual Update in order for your address to be changed

Adding or Updating Current Phone Number
- Go to the menu (3 bars/horizontal lines at the tope left hand corner)
- Click on 'More'
- Click "Address Information"
- Click "Update" on Phone section
- Enter your phone number

Paying Fees
- Click "Fees" on the left hand menu (3 bars/lines)
- On the desired fee, click "add to cart"
- View your cart on the upper right hand corner under the student selection list
- Click on "Add Payment Method"
- Enter Payment information
- Click "Submit Payment" at the bottom

Course Schedule
Here you will see your student's course titles, teacher names, and the time of each course.
Calendar
Here you can see which assignments are due on which days and click on those assignments as the are listed on the right hand side of the calendar.
Teacher Contacts and School Announcements
Make sure to check your school announcements on the first tab "Message Center" of the 3 bar left hand menu.
