Our Lady Queen of Angels School
Friends and Supporters Update - 9/12/24
Principal's Greeting
Dear Friends and Supporters of OLQA,
Reaching out from Our Lady Queen of Angels School, as it may have been a while since you've heard directly from us! For the past 11 years, our school has been managed under the Partnership Schools, who were often the direct points of contact for our long time supporters. However, this past June, OLQA transitioned from management under the Partnership Schools back under direct management by the Archdiocese of New York. Although it's been a busy summer, we at the school are so excited to get back in touch and to let you know about all the great things continuing to happen at OLQA!
Whether you last supported OLQA in the past year or two, or it's been a longer, OLQA continue to be a pillar of academic excellence and educational excellence in East Harlem, arguably the highest need neighborhood in Manhattan. Rooted in our beliefs that children and learning come first, children are reflections of God, and learning is sacred, we had a banner year in 2023-24 in living our mission. From a historic high school placement performance by the class of 2024 to a Manhattan City Championship in CYO Basketball in our first season in over 20 years, there were tons of highlights from 2023-24 that we look to build on top of in 2024-25.
We look forward to being in touch and to building partnership in future years as Our Lady Queen of Angels School continues its proud tradition of academic excellent, faith-based, and community driven Catholic education. Be sure to read our 2023-24 Year in Review, linked below, to learn more about the great things happening at OLQA. If you have individual inquiries, feel free to reach out to me via email at james.sayer@olqaeastharlem.org.
Yours truly,
James Sayer
