Wales families,

First and foremost, we appreciate all of your support! October is a busy month for us at Wales Elementary School! We are looking forward to Picture Day and the Wales Fire Department joining us for fire safety!

Just as a reminder, please remember to send your student in layers each day as the mornings may be cool but by recess it may be warmer. Also, please send your student with a water bottle each day so they can refill it as needed.

Wales families, please see the drop off and pick up procedures below. We appreciate your help in following these procedures to ensure the safety of all students.

Drop off

-The doors open each morning at 8:40.

-Please have your student or students remain in their vehicle until the doors open. This ensures students are not crossing the roadway with buses and vehicles pulling in.

-Please refrain from dropping students off on route 19 as this poses a number of safety concerns. With the influx of traffic in front of the building students attempting to cross can be challenging.

Pick up

-Dismissal begins each afternoon at 3:05

-Please remember to wait to pass the buses until their stop signs are down. We make every effort to move parent pick ups along as quickly as possible before the buses are loaded.

*Please ensure you are following Massachusetts regulations on car safety including booster seat requirements.

With the start of the new year we just remind families of the following protocols:

-Students must be 24 hours fever free without the use of fever reducing medication before returning to school.

-Students must be 24 hours vomit free for 24 hours prior to returning to school.

If your student requires medication that needs to be taken during the school day, please complete a medication consent form.

Also please ensure your emergency contacts are up to date in Power School so we are able to contact someone incase your student is sick or having a medical emergency.

Please ensure your child comes to school with a note if there will be a change in your pick up protocol. We ask that the office be notified no later than 2:45 if a change needs to be made. Thank you for your help with this!
