Read-A-Thon is Here!!
We are so excited for WCEF’s 5th Annual Read-a-thon to read, read, read and raise funds for our school. Please look out for materials from your classroom teacher and for emails from WCEF. Our school goal is to read 100,000 minutes and raise $26,500. We can do this!
Read-a-thon Kick-off is Monday, Sept. 16! Have your student come to school with their favorite book to kick off the Read-a-thon. WCEF is our district’s fundraising partner, providing additional funding for teacher and specialist salaries, academic programs, support for our libraries, and additional classes not possible without your gifts to WCEF.
Buena Vista Read-a-thon incentives:
1. 25,000 minute read as a school=dress like a superhero day
2. 100,000 minutes read =Chocolate Milk at lunch and Hibernation day (PJs and stuffies).
3. Top reader (minutes) in each grade level picks & autographs a book for our library
4. $10,000 as a school = extended recess
5. $15,000 = top 5 earners can silly string the principal

PTA Membership Drive
As you may know, the PTA plays a vital role in enriching our school community. They organize a variety of events and activities throughout the year, aiming to provide enriching experiences for our students while fostering a strong sense of community. Unfortunately, current PTA membership is lower than in years past. Without a significant increase in membership, we will be forced to charge for, or cancel many events that we currently offer for free. This is a decision we would like to avoid, as we believe that everyone should have equal access to these valuable opportunities.
A strong membership base is essential for the PTA to continue operating as a non-profit organization. We pride ourselves on holding one main (Fun Run) fundraiser a year, but this alone is not enough to sustain our efforts.
Please consider becoming a PTA member to help maintain our current programs and explore new initiatives. Click here to join for as little as $15. Together, we can create a more vibrant and engaged school community for all.
Multicultural Night: International Potluck, Performance, Fashion Show
We're excited to celebrate the diversity of ALL our families with the BV Multicultural Potluck on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 5:45pm-8pm.
