Assalamu alaikum respected parents,
I pray you are all well. We look forward to seeing all our students tomorrow, FEBRUARY 11th in sha Allah. Please remember that we have PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES on next Sunday FEBRUARY 18th In Sha Allah. Students will have half day on 2/18/24 and will be dismissed at 11:30. Parent Teacher Conferences will start at 11:45 AM in the IFN Banquet Hall and end at 1:00 PM. We look forward to seeing all parents in sha Allah.
MORNING ASSEMBLY: On Sunday (2/4), our morning assembly was again led by Sr Asma Fazal , one of our very active parent volunteers and now leading our IFNSS PSG (Parent Support Group). She continued her discussion on the topic of "Israa and Miraj ". She talked about the the First Site of the Journey – Masjid al-Aqsa - when Allah (SWT) took Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Soul and Body, from the Al-Masjid Al-Haram (Kaaba) in Makkah to the farthest Mosque in Jerusalem, Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa’, and then in the Second Site of the Journey – Al-Mi’raaj- the Prophet (S) rode the Buraq up into the heavens. In the highest level of the heavens, Prophet Muhammad (S) spoke directly with Allah (SWT). During this conversation, Allah (SWT) prescribed prayer. She shared the story of how 50 prayers were reduced to 5 prayers. This story is important because it shows us that when we pray once, we are rewarded as if we prayed 10 times. (5 daily prayer count for 50 Prayer) Thus, by worshipping Allah (SWT) through Salah, we are getting many good deeds to make our scales heavy! Salah is the only Fard that was prescribed directly from Allah (SWT) to Muhammad (S). All other obligatory acts of worship were prescribed through Angel Jibril (A). Therefore, we learn that Salah is a super important act of worship! See ASSEMBLY FLYER attached for more information. We are so grateful to Sr Asma for volunteering her time to come and lead our assembly ma Sha Allah!

Parent involvement is essential for students development, leads to increased student achievement and success and offers many benefits. We highly encourage our parents to get involved at IFN Sunday School which is why we are offering several opportunities for parent involvement this year. These include the following:
1. Join Parent Support Group (PSG)
2. Become a Teaching Assistant
3. Become a Lunch/Recess Supervisor
4. Lead a Morning Assembly at Sunday School
5. Be a Substitute Teacher or TA
