Sick Day Guidelines: Make the Right Choice!
To help prevent the spread of illness, we would like to give you some guidelines to help with your decision on whether or not to send your child to school. Please familiarize yourself with the guidelines and how to report an absence. We ask that you keep your child home if they:
Have a fever of 100.4 (oral) degrees or higher.
- Have stomach cramps and/or vomiting.
Have a sore throat with fever.
Have a persistent cough (dry or productive).
Have diarrhea (three or more episodes in 24 hrs).
Have a rash or open and draining sores.
Have symptoms that prevent them from participating in school, such as:
Excessive tiredness or lack of appetite.
Headaches, body aches, earaches.
Severe sore throat (could be strep-throat even without fever. Other symptoms of strep throat in children are headache and stomach upset. Contact your pediatrician to assess or diagnosis strep throat).
Volunteers Still Needed to Decorate Our Diversity Boards
Half Day School would like to welcome families to help highlight the diverse cultures that represent District 103!
We are looking for families to spotlight their culture, country, and/or traditions in the front hallway display cases during a month of this school year. The vibrant displays are a hit among the students and truly celebrate the rich tapestry of cultures that make our school community so special. If you are interested, please sign up on the following Diversity Display Boards sheet.
For any additional questions, please email Esther Lee at elee@d103.org and/or Christine Namkung at cnamkung@d103.org. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in making Half Day School a place where all our students feel significant!
