St. Petronille Catholic School
A Note from Mr. Schmidt
Dear St. Petronille Families,
What an incredible Catholic Schools Week! We truly celebrated the theme of being united in faith and community each and every day this week. Everything we did - Mass, dress up days, talent show, recess alternatives, rock-paper-scissors tournament, Culver's Night, the pancake breakfast, raffles, Charger Olympics, 4v4 basketball, the pep rally, and more - featured enthusiasm, investment, fun, and togetherness! I cannot think of a better way to celebrate our Catholic school than to have shown such unity in celebrating who we are for the whole week! Thank you to all of our students, parents, and friends who participated in our events and activities this week. Thanks as well to our teachers who made a thousand adjustments to their classes and schedules to fit all of the craziness in. Special appreciation goes to our 8th grade students, who planned and ran the week with care and passion, and their teachers Mrs. Onesti and Mrs. Murray, who put their heart and souls into making the experience special for everyone!
Our opportunities to celebrate our community have not stopped yet. This Sunday, our wonderful Parent Organization is hosting a Potluck Dinner after the 5 PM mass for any families in attendance. After Culver's Night and the Pancake Breakfast, I know everyone is itching for one more meal with the St. Pets crowd, and your chance is this Sunday! See you there!
This week we also kicked off our One Book One School Initiative with the book Masterpiece! We have weeks worth of fun planned games, read alouds, buddy activities, and more! This has truly been a labor of love to put together for a whole team of teachers! All students should have a copy of the book and a bookmark and all parents received an email from Mrs. Wardynski with information about the initiative and our plans. Please see the OBOS Power Point linked below featuring an incredibly impressive intro video!
I do want to also offer an apology to anyone who came to this morning's Pancake Breakfast and did not get pancakes or bacon. The enthusiasm around the event was wonderful and we unfortunately ran out of food! We will make sure to be prepared next year to make sure that no one leaves hungry. Thank you so much for your support and for being a part of our Catholic school!
God bless,
Eric Schmidt
