Principal Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
It is hard to believe that we are halfway through a school year and about to commence the July School holidays this Friday. We would like to wish all of our students and their families a safe and happy school holiday period. As restrictions continue to ease, remember to stay safe. We look forward to students returning to school on Tuesday 21st July.

Our Kindergarten Transition is planned! We have five sessions for our new Kindergarten students. We want our students to be comfortable and familiar with ‘big school’.

It was an extremely hard decision, but our four finalists are below.
Congratulations!
Artworks will be submitted online this year. Details of the exhibition will follow. Our finalist artworks will join our other amazing artworks in our front school office with other Operational Art Winners.
Farewell Mrs Selwood
We will farewell Mrs Selwood this Friday. We are very happy for her future career endeavours and wish her all the very best. We know that she will definitely be missed by our beautiful students, community and staff. All the very best Mrs Selwood and thank you for your hard work and dedication to our school since 2018.
Cross Country
What a wonderful day we had last Friday. We definitely missed our parent support and enthusiasm. There were plenty of smiles and a whole lot of effort displayed by our students. Years 3-6 participated in Cross Country. Even our infants all completed a lap around the school – there were smiles, laughter and lots of cheering and encouragement from our students.

We miss our Parents and Community in our school
We never would have thought we would be discouraging parents from coming into school. We highly value our parents and community. We want to ensure that parents are informed about school events, learning and be able to celebrate good news stories. It is also so important that parents are able to talk with staff when and where needed. Remember we are only a phone call or email away. We are trying to remove as many barriers as we can by:
- Changing our newsletter format – this allows videos, links and more photos to help parents and community feel connected to our school.
- Reports – we have completed your child’s report and they will be sent home this week.
- Parent Teacher Interviews – we will be holding interviews early in Term 3. We will wait for information from DoE if we can have face to face interviews (adhering to social distancing and health and safety guidelines) or if we will be conducting interviews via phone or online methods. Stay tuned.
- Parent and Community Survey – have your say. We would like to hear from you. We have created an open survey for parents and carers to have their say. Please follow the link below to have your say.

Teacher Professional Learning
We are continuing with our learning journey. Teachers will be working for a full day with our executive staff and Instructional Leader this week. We are continuing with our Professional Learning in Mathematics and Evidence Based Practices.
Hearing Assessment
We have been working closely with DoE personnel in training our SLSOs to conduct a hearing screening using Sound Scout App. This is application is recognised by Hearing Australia. The assessment is short and is a game-based assessment. Results will show if a child would benefit from a hearing referral to Hearing Australia. Hearing Australia recognise this assessment as a good tool to determine if a student requires further investigation into their hearing. Parent permission is required. If you would like your child to participate in this short assessment please let your child’s class teacher know or contact the school office.
Attendance
Our SMS works well to notify parents about student attendance. It is great to see so many of our parents using this app. Next term we will also send out messages of ‘partial attendance’. This will allow parents to see if their child is arriving at school late.
Quality Work
Children Online Safety
It is so important that we teach our children about online safety. An excellent resource for parents and kids is the ‘esafety commissioner’ website. Link below is a must see for parents who have children on the internet.
