Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-- What a great week in life at Ridgeline High! In today’s photo, we get a chance to see many of our artists who’s work was selected as part of the regional art contest sponsored by ESD 101. A complete list of Ridgeline artists is below. Having not grown up around much art, I didn’t have a strong understanding or appreciation for the skill and talent I’ve seen in so many of our students here. When you see their work and listen to them tell the story of each piece, it’s quite impressive! You can get involved and vote in the People’s Choice Award. The viewing and awards show is coming up next week, more info below.
Earlier this week I participated as a judge for our annual cheer team tryouts. While my resume for this position was somewhat lacking, I can tell you what I saw and recognize about our cheer squad. First, they are very athletic, with excellent coordination. Second, what sets them apart from other squads around the league is the way they “perfom” every time they step on the court or sidelines. They exude spirit, and take a lot of pride in what they do!
We’re wishing the very best of luck and success to the other half of our elite spirit squad, the RHS Dance Team, as they make their first ever appearance in the State Championships on Saturday! We’re proud of you!
When we were planning for the eventual opening of Ridgeline High School, we knew providing opportunities in a variety of extra-curricular activities would be important. At the time, it was hard to predict what that might look like in three years time. A great example was Thursday nights showcase event for our percussion, winter colorguard, and the dance team. Countless hours of training and practice leads up to these performances. They don’t always get the school-wide recognition they deserve because some of those groups almost exclusively perform at area competitions and invites. We were fortunate to have them perform for the whole school at our Verde Loco Kick-off event. They are talented and hard working teams!
Classes and staff have been cramming very early morning practices in to put the finishing touch on their performances for the Battle of the Green at our assembly Wednesday, March 27 (include the bell schedule here or below). At the end of this competition we tally all the points for the month and announce the winning grade level—it’s quite a spectacle! For me, all this activity and fun has made the month of March fly by. We can’t thank our Shop Loco partners, and the greater community, enough for supporting the businesses that are supporting this event!
We’re looking forward to hosting ALL Ridgeline students (only Ridgeline students) tonight, Friday (3/22) for our annual VERDE LOCO Neon Mixer! For those of you parents who grew up in the 80’s, dig into your closet and find some old neon clothing for your kids! This dance is free!...with two items of non-perishable food!
Encourage your student to come and support a good cause and hang out with their friends.
Stay informed, read the Flyer. Make it a great weekend! –Mr. Hardt
Shop Loco
Taking our Verde Loco to the streets! As Falcons, we know how fortunate we are to call this area home, and we want to celebrate that all of March!
With YOUR support, help us show our community businesses some Falcon love! We have partnered with businesses who are committed to generously supporting our Falcons, when we shop, eat, play, visit our local favorites! And, be sure to follow our socials (Facebook, Instagram) as they will blow-up with the offers made for our Falcon community! Get ready to SHOP LOCO!
Please donate to the Verde Loco Food Drive
Donate to Ridgeline’s Food Drive and sponsor your District for Verde Loco! The drive runs to March 22nd, and collections can be dropped off in the morning before school in the leadership room.
💚 The grade, or district, with the most items donated will win 40 points in the Hunger Greens. Bringing food is your ticket of entry to the Neon Mixer (3/22 from 7-10pm), so please bring non-perishable food to donate at those events as well!
💚 There is also an option to donate money- just find a QR code printed around the school or click the link below and select your grade before giving. All donations will go to Partners Inland Northwest.
