May always seems to be the fastest moving month of the year, and this year is no exception. This week, first grade and Kindergarten took field trips to Durham. First grade saw 1,2,3 Andres at Carolina Theater and kindergarten went to see the Durham Bulls play. We had our book fair all week. I was honored to attend the ceremony Monday night to see Ms. Harris win Bus Driver of the Year for all of Granville County. Friday was field day, and we loved having all the parents here to cheer your students on. We had a great day, and students went home worn out!
I am tracking mClass results, and I am excited about how much we've grown since August. I see teachers and students talking together about their progress all over campus. We start iReady math next! Please take time to talk to your students about the importance of making sure they show us everything they know so that we can celebrate their accomplishments together. Each one of them have learned so much this year!
Please turn in all overdue library books so that you will not be charged for the lost book. Please remind your students that Writing, drawing, painting, defacing, or placing stickers or labels on a school owned laptop or laptop accessories is considered defacement of GCPS property and will result in a damage fee of $10.00
We have all kinds of wonderful events planned between here and the end of the year! Please join us!
- iMoms breakfast for third, fourth, and fifth grade students will be at 8:15 on May 14th.
- Our PTO meets May 14th at 6:00.
- The EOGs will happen on May 29th, 30th, and 31st.
- The fifth grade dance is May 31st from 6:00-8:00.
- The final Awards Day for the year is June 6th for K-4th. Fifth grade promotion ceremony will take place on June 7th at 9:00. PreK promotion is at 11:00 on June 7th.
- The last day of school is June 7th. It is an early release day.
